For the unpretentious, this old South African 1 star is more 4 Star. Stayed in the rondavels and they were basic but exceptionally clean. Food was good and the bar was well stocked. Breakfast was basic but more than adequate. Secure parking. Great stopover between...More
We decided to do lunch at the Hotel away from the busy shops along the N1. The service was good and friendly and the food excellent. There is beautiful furniture in this hotel. just look around the dining room.

Stopover from CT to Joburg, stayed in the deluxe room. Make sure to take your mosquito repellent, if you want any sleep. Overall stay was fine, lodge needs some maintenance, wall plaster peeling. Staff was friendly.

Hi there - they certainly are! I arrived with my Springer Spaniel (not a small dog) and, whilst asking about a table for dinner, casually remarked that I hoped Max did not howl too long when I shut him up in a strange room while I ate dinner. "Bring him along" was the manager's reply. So I did. Max lay contentedly at my feet, under the table, while I enjoyed my meal and took in the eclectic decor and the local characters propping up the bar.
