We stood at the 'hotel' part of this place which, despite its name, is still a hostel. I wouldn't quite mind towels and breakfast included into the price and definitely I'd like to see a charger which is closer to my bed than 3 meters away. I don't think it's a nice place to stay if you're not a part...

Great hotel / hostel. We were in the hotel part, and you get the best of both worlds, hotel facilities eg hairdryer, phone, tv, soap, plus hostel facilities eg use of a washing machine (not that expensive), self catering kitchen and dining room, and use of guidebooks left behind by others (after our info stored on the tablet was lost)....

Really great hostel! The rooms are nice, people are real friendly and great services like free wifi and bike rental. I never had this much value for so little money. We stayed here for three nights and it is a great place to get around in stockholm. South bank can be reached by foot and public transport is close by.

Great budget hostel/hotel. You can take the train just a few stops to get to central station or the main downtown shopping, or you can easily walk to old town and then all they way into downtown shopping. I found it to be a great overall value and location. There also were few cool bars/restraunts right near by you could...

Staff are really friendly and helpful, the accommodation is comfortable and clean. The bar serves a good selection of drinks and good quality food. Overall a vibrant and value for money hotel. I would happily stay there again. Close to the Metro station.

I stayed here 3 nights in a 4 bedded dorm as a single room. The room was basic and the bathroom and toilet down the corridor which I wasnt prepared for but the hostel turned out to be really nice. Quiet, not far from the metro, nice breakfast (although this cost extra). I had expected a room with a TV...

Zinkensdamm is a nice hostel, set back from a main road in Sodermalm. We stayed in a 4-person private room, which despite some slightly dirty sheets was fine enough. Our room also had a window onto the courtyard, which is a nice place to meet people and have a snack... but also can be quite noisy until the wee hours...

This is a great hostel. I had a 4 bed dorm which was quite pricey for the 3 of us and very small but the hostel is well run, has great facilities outside your room and is in a wonderful location in a park. Loved the kitchen and lounge facilities and the staff, like most Swedes, were ultra friendly and...

Staying in Hornstull & Langholmen

Neighbourhood Profile
Hornstull & Langholmen
If you love having a drink by the sea right on the beach (and who doesn’t?) Hornstull & Långholmen should be on top of your list. The area was recently redeveloped and now not only offers artsy bars and edgy restaurants but also a post-modern shopping mall complex for urban retail therapy. Hornstull belongs to the more established and sophisticated neighborhoods in Stockholm and is the typical place where you’ll find Swedish dads meeting for a latte during their paternal leave, or where local office workers meet up at the art cinema for a drink or a movie after work. The beaches in Hornstull and Långholmen are popular destinations for barbeques and sunbathing during the summer. Bring sunscreen.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Zinkensdamm is a 3-star Superior Hotel situated in the midst of the picturesque plantation plots by Tantolunden at Sodermalm. Despite the central location, the hotel is surrounded by several green areas which infuse a relaxing atmosphere. The decorations of the hotel rooms are inspired by the old south of Stockholm while still maintaining all the modern facilities. All rooms are provided with private shower and wc as well as a flat-screen TV with free cable channels. Zinkensdamm Hotel can offer a wide range of rooms, from a single room for the lone traveler to a family room to the traveler visiting Stockholm with kindred. The green areas in the area offer lovely jogging tracks and path ways in a cultural-historical environment. Feel free to upgrade to one of our superior rooms and get a mini-bar and tea/coffeemaker in the room. These types of rooms consist of either a double bed or two separate singlebeds. In the morning we set the table for our generous breakfast buffet with scrambled eggs, bacon, yoghurt with berries, soured milk, various types of juices, coffee/tea, freshly baked bread, fruits and a wide range of different cold cuts and spreads to put on the bread. The hotel is constantly being renovated, yet maintaining the special atmosphere of the genuine Sodermalm. ... more   less
