Amazingly quirky ex hospital, barracks and brewery, this hotel had a small room but good facilities and an excellent breakfast in the shaded cobbled courtyard. Wifi included, staff obliging and superb value.

Had concerns when I read reviews before departure about noise (a big problem if you're a light sleeper) and windows not opening. Our last visit to Stockholm two years ago found us in a heatwave staying on a boat with windows which didn't open! This hotel had big opening windows which we left open all night and slept well. There...

Our room 006 was on the ground floor, and looked onto the alleyway with bins - so noisy at times. It was very small so that you had to move carefully around the bed in order not to trip. The smallest bathroom I have seen with shower, toilet and handbasin, arranged so that to use the shower the doors opened...

We booked this hotel because it was literally a minutes walk from where we were attending a church wedding. It had relatively good ratings and wasn't too expensive. We were early so they give you a key to lock up your bags so you can wander off and explore the city. When we came back we were simply checked in...

The reviews for this hotel were good, the location and price were good, but it still surpassed our expectations. What a delight this little hotel is. It is quiet but close to transit. It has a beautiful courtyard you can use for eating, drinking wine, or hanging out. The breakfast at this place is better than any we have had...

The only reason I booked this hotel was I had other family members staying here for a wedding, and this hotel is located near where the bride and groom live. I was concerned about the lack of elevator, because I have back issues and two replaced knees. My hope was I'd be able to hit up my family for assistance...

We really enjoyed the location close to underground and to SoFO as well as the atmosphere in this historic building. The breaksfast buffet was great, too. However, the walls are thin as they have been added at a later stage and as the wooden floorboards run underneath them from room to room. We therefore heard every step and every item...

We loved this hotel except for the bathrooms! It is well located close to public transport and walking distance to the old town and the city centre. The building has great character although a mish mash of style inside - hopefully a simple Scandinavian design aesthetic is coming through from the wild coloured patterns that feature in one dining area....

Saw the builders change the signage to Nofo Hotel during our stay. It's a nice small hotel with a hostel atmosphere where you get to meet people from different parts of the world. The room we stayed are newly refurbished. It is small and basic but most importantly clean. The beds and pillow are very comfortable. We read the reviews...

We enjoyed two nights at the Columbus Hotel. Upon arrival, we were given an upgrade because there was remodeling on the premises. Those areas were removed from guests and not an issue in the comfort of our stay. Our room was clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The bath was large and clean. The breakfast buffet is a definite plus. We thoroughly...

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighbourhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
