We enjoyed our stay in the hotel (a room with two single beds (bunk beds) with shared bathrooms. It was an experience worth doing however I agree it is only ideal for short stays as it is cramped. A little surprised that there aren't enough toilets for the number of rooms in the hostel. It was clean and tidy but...

The boat is awesome, placed in a fantastic position, very central. Because of the atmosphere it's worthy to have a beer or a glass of wine in common hall. The crew is very kind and helpful. With a little overprize (about 8 euro) it's possible to have an abundant breakfast. Rooms at the bottom of the boat are little but...

I have always wanted to try staying on a boat and got lucky when I found a room for myself on this one. Location is perfect as I had the best view at city centre from my cabin. My cabin was big enough for myself and the radiator was working so I could warm up my room.It was clean but...

It was a great pleasure spend one night in this hostel. It has been a particular experience to sleep on board on a floating boat seeing the sea out from the cabin's hatch as well as white roofs in the morning. We carefully advise you to spend a night on board! Fantastic!

My son wanted to stay on a boat instead of a hotel so we tried the Red Boat. Friendly staff and cosy dining area combined with the check-in desk. The cabin looked nice too, soft comfortable beds, working heater. Shower and bathroom were shared some 5-7 meters away which was not a problem. We had only two complains, that is,...

I booked this place at first hand, because I wanted to stay somewhere extraordinary, what on the other hand somehow fits to the place I was going to. Therefor a boat seemed to be the perfect place in Stockholm, surrounded by water. I was really happy, that I tried this out. The Hostel is a unique place, full of fancy-maritime/sea-decorations...

The Red Boat is a hotel/hostel in two old boats. The reception/lobby/restaurant/breakfast is on the first boat arriving from the city (Gamla Stan = Old City). The environment is what friend of old boats like. All people you meet here are very friendly. Once I had the Captain´s room and great view. This time, I had to climb down in...

The boat is beautiful. Outside, inside so awesome. But! Be warned, the hostel "offers" dinner. The first night we went to order we were told that the guy working was too busy and wouldn't be able to do it. Fair enough. The second night we ordered, and managed to get food. Straight after us though he told every single visitor...

The sheer thought of living on a boat, and the beautiful view is motivation enough to stay here. The dorm rooms are OK and they serve the exact purpose they have been devised. The breakfast is wholesome. In all, a great experience to stay here. Also the staff here are very caring, so you wouldn't have any problems whatsoever.

It seems like you can't get anything better for the money in Stockholm. If you cannot sleep at a dorm room, like me, this is one of a very few options. Don't know how is is in a colder seasons, but in August it was so pleasant to sit on the deck in the night with a glass of wine..!...

Staying in Mariatorget

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariatorget
This rather quiet neighborhood revolves around a postcard-like park with a dramatic fountain in its center and is definitely one of Stockholm’s showcase neighborhoods. Mariatorget, a central residential area, is the best Stockholm has to offer when it comes to juxtaposing architectural masterpieces with sophisticated art galleries, coffee shops and bars. Stockholmers love to spend their weekends in the park or one of the nearby coffee shops, so come to Mariatorget to meet the locals. The northern part of Mariatorget boasts historic buildings, beautiful cobblestone streets, and one of Stockholm’s best observation decks, Monteliusvägen, from where you can see an amazing view of the city hall and Stockholm’s old town.
