We had a great stay at Glymur Hotel even if the weather was ... Lets say ... Really wet ... The Hot tub outside is a big plus and the breakfast is great. We didnt have any snow yet, i wonder if the hotel is easy to access then. You can find all our info about our stay on our...

We have just returned from a four night stay at this hotel. It's location is great, with superb views over the Fjord (There is a road between the hotel & the fjord, but barely any traffic at all on it) and the hotel is deliciously warm, nicely lit & very welcoming. Our room (24) was a two level one &...

Being from the New Orleans area, I've developed pretty high standards for food. So imagine my surprise when coming to a country that often has a bad culinary rap and being floored with the best meal of my life! We started with a seafood stew and a lobster appetizer. The seafood stew had a butternut squash base with succulent bites...

Really disappointing hotel. Once you enter the place, there is a disgusting smell of fried oil...disgusting...it smells up to the room. Unfriendly and rude staff, as if you were bothering them...the restaurant is really expensive and not great. Apparently potatoes and mushrooms are vegetables...wouldnt recommend it...

Drive 45 mins from Reykjavik, and through a rather impressive tunnel, and you end up at Hotel Glymur. The surroundings are beautiful, remote, quiet and quirky. Great choice at breakfast (although porridge would have been a great addition!). We had dinner two nights - also excellent. Lucky enough to see the aurora on new year's eve which was fantastic then...

We stayed in one of the modern, spacious and stylish self catering villas, a very comfortable and well equipped property with hot tub on the deck. Great views of the fjord during daylight from the deck and of the stars from the tub at night! An excellent Breakfast Buffet in the hotel was included in the price. Spectacular landscapes and...

We absolutely loved this hotel. It was very remote and isolated, but quite well maintained. The in house chef was very good. The breakfast brunch was excellent. We truly loved our stay at this hotel. The concierge was extremely helpful and nice. We were able to check in early. They even sought us out to tell us the Northern Lights...

This was an excellent stay. I stayed in the property's main building which includes the restaurant, bar, check-in, etc. The 2 hot tubs are off this building. There are other smaller buildings on site. Both dinner and breakfast were wonderful--great menu and selection. The view of the Fjord is a nice addition. The receptionist was very helpful on many occasions...

Sometimes your don´t have to travel far to experience something truly unique in Iceland. Only about an hour form Reykjavik The Whale Fjord is something pretty amazing. This route is not a part of the circle around the country as everyone takes the Hvlafjarðagöng (The Whale Tunnels) to cut off their travel time, it was build 20 years ago before...
