The hotel is located between mountains and a vast fjord; so the views are superb, beautiful and unique. All building is 1st class with beautiful indoor and outdoor layouts. The whole space is a gallery were we can spend hours exploring different kinds of art, reading a book in the full library, seeing old photography's and historical objects. The decor... More

Hotel Glymur is located on the north side of Whale Fjord, overlooking the water and mountains beyond. We stayed in one of their two bedroom villas over looking the Whale Fjord. We didn't really use the self catering facilities as the main hotel provides a great breakfast and superb dinner, the food is fabulous and beautifully presented. The main hotels... More

A few years back this hotel was "the best of Iceland".Nowadays it doesn't look like the best. Actually the hotel is in the middle of nothing. There is only fjord in front and church(in walking distance 10 mins). Our room was kind of "duplex",with the bedroom under the roof.Room was hot and when we opened windows we got all smells from... More

We stayed 2 nights at hotel. We liked it overall. Friendly staff. Nice to have 2 jacuzzis available with nice view. Food at the restaurant is good, but service is not the best. We had 2 dinners and both times we had to wait long time for dishes to be served. Breakfast is great. If you have room on second... More

After making our reservation 6 months ago and traveling from Portland, Oregon (7.5 flight hours), we got the worse room in the hotel. Lovely view of gravel path, no water view, nothing. We are so disappointed. Room is dated and staff is stuffy. When we inquired if we could change we were informed that 6 months ago (when we made... More

We (4 adults) stayed in one of the villas belonging to Hotel Glymur and I must say that we enjoyed our stay very much: The Elegance Villa had 2 nice bedrooms, each with a separate bath room, a nice sitting area and a nice terrace with a private hot pot. The Villa was nicely furbished. We had breakfast in the... More

We had a fantastic stay to close our Iceland ring road trip. Excellent location, overlooking the beautiful ocean and not so far from Reykjavik - the perfect spot for that last sleep before going to the airport next day. Very nice jacuzzis outdoors, where you can soak up in bubbly hot water appreciating the sunset view, having a nice drink... More

What a unique beautiful place to be! The view from our loft room was breathtaking and so was the breakfast. Simple and genuine but also perfectly groomed this is a wonderful destination to add while in Iceland. Only head's up: beside being off the beaten path road closures can make it hard to go/come back from. We got stuck half... More

The hotel was beautiful! Clean and cozy and had a loft for the bed - neat feature. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The outdoor hot tub provided stunning views - so peaceful! I wish we were able to stay for longer. One of my favorite hotels that I stayed in during our 7 nights in Iceland The restaurant was... More

Beautiful views of the water; wonderful food and great service. Communal hot tubs were relaxing after a long day hiking up to Glymur Falls. Stayed in the hotel. Rooms are two stories -- bedroom upstairs and living area and bathroom downstairs. A bit funky but it worked. Shower has that unique Iceland sulfur smell but it helps you to be... More
