Spent 3 wintry nights in Akureryi. Hotel is adequate, rooms a little small and bathroom gets wet all over with no door for the shower area. Very effective central heating. The breakfast is fairly standard and more than adequate but you make your own waffles - that was quite fun. Go earlier so there is no queue for it! The...

We stayed in this hotel for three nights in February of 2016. The rooms in this hotel are very small and the bathroom with the glass door was not practical. The staff were helpful and pleasant. This hotel is walking distance to downtown with lots of good restaurants. The Northern lights can be seen from this hotel on a clear...

We stayed at Icelandair Hotel Akureyri for 5 nights while we explored around northern Iceland in the winter. The hotel was perfect for our needs - we had a 5th floor room that was modern, efficiently laid out, tidy and well lit. Being on the East side, it had a superb view of the town, fjord and mountain across the...

Love the hotel, nice staff very helpful, the room was great, comfortable and clean! 7 minutes walk to Main Street. Breakfast was great! With a local Icelandic touch! They have a free shuttle from the hotel to main streets. Definitely would go back!

We visited Icelandair Hotel Akureyri for two nights last week. We really enjoyed our stay! The hotel was a quick taxi ride from the airport (I'd say about 10 minutes), and it is walkable to the center of the city. Although the walk may be difficult for some due to the steep hill to the city center, Icelandair Hotel has...

Iceland doesn't have a lot of lavish hotels. Akureyri (with 18,000 people) has simple hotels. The Icelandair Hotel in Akureyri is clean, simple, and nice. The people were very friendly. Breakfasts and other meals in the hotel restaurant were also good. Our package included free passes to the swimming pool across the street. It was so much fun. I'm so...

As a regular swimmer, my husband was delighted to find the (independently operated) heated outdoor lap pool next door (parents, there is a year round outdoor water slide) for a very reasonable price. Even with below freezing temperatures, he loved the pool (and hot tub for after his workout). The location was a little outside of the city center and...

Dear guest, Thank you for taking some time to review our hotel. It is very nice to hear that your husband enjoyed our local outdoor swimming pool just as much as we do. Looking forward to hopefully welcoming you again in the future. Best regards, Icelandair Hotel Akureyri

I stayed here with my sisters on a Gate 1 tour of Iceland, including a two night stay in Akureyri. The hotel is small, tidy, and quite adequate for where it is situated. This is as luxurious as it gets in this small town, but manages to deliver warmth in the cold of a February day 'this' close to the...

We stayed here for two nights as part of an Iceland Air package trip to Reykjavik and Akureyri. As it was snowing when we arrived and the city looked so nice we upgraded our room to a top floor room for a small fee (30$ / day) and enjoyed some fabulous views. The rooms are modern, practical yet very comfortable....

We were here last fall and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there is a welcoming feel overall. The hotel is situated in a pretty neighborhood with a good view and is about a five to ten minute walk from the town center. It is a good uphill walk to the hotel, and the scenery...
