Quite a big hostel for such a small town. It was full house, so it was quite noisy and busy. Our room was below the kitchen area, so there was a lot of noise starting early. Beds were good, room was clean.

I had just completed a 6 hour drive from Reykjavik and was ready to pass out here. Not only was I greeted by friendly, accommodating staff, a note saying that I was staying at a hostel owned by an elf (and a reminder not to sleep in past checkout time to avoid turning into a troll), and a comfy bed/clean...

We stayed one night at one of the 6 people cottages of the hostel. The cottage is very beautiful, warm and spacious and has its own hot tub that you can use until midnight! The kitchen of the cottage was clean and very well equipped. This was the best value accommodation we had during our 9 day road trip to...

I couldn't believe it was an hostel, it almost looked like an hotel. Such a clean and organized place. Good and fair prices also! The recepcionist couldn't be nicer, she was so heplful and nice. Perfect place to sleep if you're heading to north iceland. Akureyri is a magical and must visit town. My favorite place in Iceland with no...

I loved my visit to this hostel, I had just done a 6 hour roadtrip from Reykjavik and was greeted by a friendly member of staff and given a discount code for a restaurant, which was fab! The room itself was spacious and had good facilities including a TV. The shared bathroom was decent enough too and the wifi strength...

We were a group of 4 and we stayed in the GRUND cabin, which also had a hot tub. Easy to find, great place, very helpful and friendly staff, and the hot tub is just amazing. It was the perfect end of a long day. The cabin had 3 rooms, very clean and with comfy beds. We enjoyed a lot our stay there.

I stayed in this hostel for two nights, in a 8-person dorm. I was there all alone (didn't go in high season). Kitchen, bathroom, shower, lounge, ... everything was OK. Akureyri is a small town with around 18000 inhabitants, so don't expect city life when coming here. There are some really nice bars though.

We rented a 3 person small cabin for one night, and absolutely loved it. The cabin was small, but we did not mind, and it came equipped with a toilet and sink. The cabin was incredibly clean when we entered- the toilet bowl even had suds in it. The receptionist was also very kind, and gave us a map of...

Spent one night here as a break from camping. It was very clean and well managed. I was in an 8 bed mixed dorm. I went to bed quite early which was fine. The problem was the snoring which isn’t a criticism to the hostel as it’s not their fault, but obviously it impacted negatively on my experience as I...

The hostel is located directly next to the main street and there are a Samkaup and Bonus near it. Inside everything is pretty standard (positively) and nice. The rooms are quite big. The door locks with daily changing code feel a bit unneccessary.
