The hostel is in the center and during the weekend there's free parking in front of the building, on weekdays you can park free close to the hostel. The hostel looks really good, it has a warm industrial look, I loved it. There is a kitchen where you can cook but they also have a bar / restaurant where you... More

The staff were very kind and helpful. You get free beer and coffee with your stay, what more do you need? Everything was very clean and quite centrally located in the city, walking distance from anything you would need. This was a very comfortable stay and we meet some other friendly hikers. We would highly recommend this place and would... More

I only went to the bar, so I can't tell anything about the hostel. The bar is a cosy place with free wifi, you can eat something (didn't order anything) and have a beer. Happy hour from 17-19 (5pm - 7pm) with all draft beers being the cheapest in town. Good service!

We stayed there two nights in a 8 bed room. The place is propably the best bar to have some drinks in Akureyri, good vibes and a lot of young people. Good room and bathroom, good internet connection and good food for dinner. For the price I think that Backpackers is top in Akureyri.

The lobby of this well located hostel is very friendly and allows discussions between the backpackers. Nice little room by the window where people can meet. Kitchen is relatively nice. Although Akureyri is small in itself, the hostel is located in the town's heart.

The hostel is situated in the main street. Negative aspects rooms are very spartan, showers are in the basement and blankets aren't included in the price. The hostel has a nice bar to talk with other travellers.

Located in the old part of Akureyi in a beautiful four story building is the Akureyri Backpackers. I've stayed at hostels in the past and have come to enjoy their community spirit and liveliness, and this one was no exception. The restaurant and bar on the main floor, the central gathering area, is always abustle with people from all over... More

Akureyri Backpackers is situated right in the heart of the town, just a stones throw from the shops, cafes, restaurants, cinemas and the fjord, you'll be perfectly placed to indulge in all of Akureyri's riches. The establishment is a rustic, authentic, no-fuss abode, offering a variety of rooms such as shared dormitories, private double rooms and even family rooms. All... More
