School by winter hotel by summer. I love this place and have stayed there many times. New and old, fancy and simple, it just works. I have had some great dinners there, quite Icelandic and quite good.

Travelling as a group meant logistics can be challenging but checking in and out of Hotel Edda was easy. THe rooms were spacious, albeit spartan but we don't need much. Rooms warm, bedding comfortable, if only the blinds would block out the 24 hour daylight that would've been nice. The bathrooms are at the end of the hall and are...

Hotel Edda Akureyri is an hotel which is only open during the summer months because he serve as a school during the winter months. The space had all the comfort needed: good rooms, a bar, a restaurant and also a free large parking. The hotel is located on a hill just 10 minutes walking to Akureyri center. A downhill hike...

We were booked into this hotel through IcelandAir's "Driving Around Iceland" package. The hotel is larger than most Hotel Edda's, and there is definitely a lot more going on. Tour bus groups were there, as were hostel-type guests. Our room was at the end of the hall and very quiet. Everything was clean and tidy. Did have to go downstairs...

My husband, friend and I got a ensuite room for 3 in this modern hotel only a short walk to the city centre. The room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable, which was a nice change of pace from many other places we stayed while in Iceland. Given Iceland is fairly expensive, we found Edda to be great...

This hotel is fairly expensive for what you get. The rooms have a bath at the end of the hall and the rooms are like a dormitory. I believe we paid around $108/ night. The front desk staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. Breakfast is not included. The hotel is quite a long walk up a hill from the city...

We enjoyed the Hotel Edda. The location was great; close enough to walk to the main areas of Akureyri, but far enough to be quiet at night. The lobby was gorgeous and the staff is very helpful. There's also a very cool lounge, with a piano, tv, board games, and pool tables. They've recently built a new wing, and from...

Nice cheerful decor and colours present. The bathrooms are shared in each wing, and showers and toilets are in the same area. Shampoo is provided, but body wash is not. Located centrally, walkable distance to downtown.

Not cheap but not expensive by Icelandic standards, either. Clean and spacious room, we were staying 2 nights on a friend's recommendation but one night is enough for the town. Room was given looking to the car park but as we were staying 2 nights I asked for a Fjord view and (eventually) got it. Perfectly good, clean, comfortable room....

Had one night here. As noted earlier, this IS Iceland so prices are....HIGH! Our room was good size, 2 beds, desk, sink and the bathroom and shower down the hall was fine. Lots of tour buses in the parking lot.
