Nice hotel in a pretty isolated area. Hotel is pretty modern, nicely equipped, and with a good restaurant. Breakfast included, which was really good. Dark enough that if the aurora is visible, you won’t have to go farther than the parking lot for a good...More
We drove along the Number 1 route to see the iceberg lagoon and really just wanted a bed for night in the area. A friend recommended the Hali as a good stop. The check in was friendly and we drove down to our rooms near...More
Stayed here for one night, the hotel has some beautiful views of the ocean and mountains. We had a fabulous dinner the night we got there. Beds were very comfortable, the room was clean and spacious. Breakfast had a nice variety in a buffet setting....More
We loved our stay here, the kids enjoyed the free museum and we had a wonderful dinner at their restaurant. The soups were really good. Breakfast was excellent.
Recommend the location , friendly helpful staff, food and service.
Hotel block looked brand new. Lucky to get a room with a view of the hills. Really helps with the constipation. Bathroom was the largest ever encountered during my entire trip in Iceland. Breakfast buffet was amazingly good. If only we have more time to...More

We travelled to Hali Comfort Hotel in January this year - in a hired Toyota Landcruiser. We had no problems - weather was not that cold - so we didn't have to deal with snow or difficult conditions. But I don't think this would have been a problem - may have slowed things down a bit
if it was snowing. We loved having our own car (we were seven) - it allowed us to drive to the glacier lagoon when we wanted - we drove out at night to see the Northern Lights - it was amazing! It is a long drive to do in one day, particularly if you stop at one or two waterfalls along the way - but completely doable - leave Reykjavik early in the morning. We stayed two night at Hali and then one night at Vik on the way back up to Reykjavik. We booked an ice cave tour separately from an operator that picked us up at Hali Hotel.
