After almost 3 weeks in Iceland a pattern emerges with respect to regional accommodation. Clean, somewhat spartan in decor, comfortable without being remarkable. If you are looking for charm and atmosphere you won't find it in this or in most Icelandic accommodation. This is modern "motel" style accommodation. The food in the restaurant was pleasant without being remarkable - honest...

Stayed here while taking the ring road tour. Four of us with two teenagers. They had the room set up perfectly for four. Two twin beds together and two other beds separate. We had room 41. One drawback was this room was near the exit and since we had the windows open there was some noise in the morning. We...

I got the room in the back, facing the lake, in the bottom floor. The apartment was cozy, warm and beautiful, bedroom comfortable, and a very roomy kitchen and dinning room. Great place to stay, I would advise it to my friends going to Iceland..

Nice comfortable apartment, slept 6 adults (2 bedrooms + 1 sofa bed). Quite a small space and pricey but furniture was modern and place was clean and new. Bathroom faces roaming sheep- which was interesting! They do need to install blackout curtains in this apartment, too bright in living room and bedrooms. Good for a night's rest and you cook...

Well, first if you are in Jokulsarlon visiting the lagoon (which is a MUST), you're not finding a Motel 6, let alone a Hilton. So, with that as a backdrop, the Hali Country Inn was better than we expected (particularly in the food dept, but more on that later). They have a neat literary museum, as evidenced by the facade,...

-blackout curtains are so key on a June trip. These were the best of our trip and we slept wonderfully. -after a few days of cold/lukewarm water it was so refreshing to have a hot shower after our glacier hike and hot tubbing -very friendly and helpful staff. they made sure we did not overpay our stay and were accommodating...

Slightly confusing to some (not if you read the instructions) you checkin at the museum/restaurant then get directions to your room in one of the buildings down the hill. The rooms are peaceful and large, and the common area has tea and coffee and someone manning a makeshift bar in the evenings.

Certainly a different kind of place to stay. The rooms are away from reception and the restaurant but are huge. We stayed there for 2 nights - had to eat there as nothing else around but the meals were wonderful and not too pricey by Icelandic standards. Coffee and tea making facilities in the entrance to the bedroom building. This...

Stayed here 2 nights while as central location for activities in the South. Parking was plentiful and the place is easy to find. This was a nice hotel, rooms were away from the main building (reception and cafe). The rooms were a little basic but comfy and clean anyway. The place did feel a little like a fancy hostel rather...

Interesting place, strange. Accommodation few hundred metres to main reception/dining room. One level accommodation with large room, comfy bed and good shower. Odd to be in the same building as staff, and ? elderly permanent residents. Wonder if the smell of drains that others have mentioned is in fact a smell from elderly residents previously occupying the rooms. Definite smell...
