We enjoyed our stay here. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The views are fantastic. The rooms are simple but nice. Breakfast was good. Improvements: Hot tub needs updating. A kettle in the room would have been good. The heater in the room needs updating as it was not warm enough. If I was passing through I would stay...

Hey Iceland put us up in this location so we didn't pick it and after reading a review in lonely planet we had high hopes. The location was great and close to the glaciers. The room was clean. The reception staff was ok. The hot tub didn't work. The sauna didn't work. The winter season dinner menu was only one...

A boon for weary travelers on Xmas Eve/Boxing Day. We had been rudely turned away from other restaurants (Hotel Katla) on our way to our rooms here thinking we won't find anything for dinner since we were arriving late at 8pm but the friendly staff kindly stepped in to prepare us some delicious turkey for dinner (we were literally the...

We had spend Christmas Eve at Hof 1 Hotel and had love every moment there. We had dinner at the hotel's restaurant which was delicious and waiting staff really lovely and friendly. Our room was very clean, beds comfy but only temperature was a little too cold for us, which could be because we spend lots of time in hot...

Unfortunately we were unable to get two rooms or a family room at any other hotel hear Skaftafell and rather than stay too far away I chose Hof 1. My mistake. Where to begin: The front receptionist was in a sour mood every time I spoke with her. She acted as if I was bothering her by checking in/checking out....

We stayed here as it was close to Skaftafell where we had booked a Glacier Hike. We arrived late but just in time for dinner, which turned out only had 1 option - very overpriced meat soup. We weren't given any other option at the time but at check-out were charged 2.500/person as opposed to the menu price of 1.900/person...

We paid 170 euros to stay in a hostel-look-a-like. You can hear the neighbours chew, the reception staff is not very friendly. The 'spa' is ok: Jacuzzi (whicih did not work) and a sauna. If you have choice to stay somewhere else, please do. Worth 60 euros, definitely not more then that.

The only selling point of this hotel is its location near Skaftafell National Park. Otherwise, it's an overpriced, out-of-date tourist trap that serves bad food. Given its location, it attracts many large tour buses and customer service has suffered as a result. The receptionist was disagreeable at check in and check out. The rooms have shared bathrooms which are smelly...

This is one of few hotels located near Skaftafell National Park and just a short drive away from the famous Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon. This hotel has the hostel feeling, the only hotel feeling that it gives is the price. Toilets are shared and the rooms are small. Breakfast was basic but good enough.

With its location- it could be a very cute hotel, but instead it has a cheap hostel feel. The dinner in the restaurant was ok- asparagus soup was quite nice. The lighting however was too bright at night creating no atmosphere and giving us headaches. Breakfast was good but basic- cereal, yoghurts, bread and meats. Rooms are basic for the...
