Amazed to see where this temporary hotel was located. For those who don't know: the Hotel Edda chain is mostly set up in schools etc. that are not used in summer so don't expect to find a normal looking hotel. The rooms were very clean and the beds comfortable. The food in the restaurant was great (definitely try the ice...

Better priced than some of the other "hotels" but as others have said it's not really a hotel. Service was top notch from all the team but rooms could do with tea and coffee facilities instead of charging 400ISK for a cup of tea - and you have to pay 450ISK to use the pool. We used it as a...

Rooms as basic as a shared room (room, no flat) in university times. Wifi does not work outside the lobby. Shared bathroom smelling as bad as the geothermal areas nearby. Restaurant with short offer and poor service. Facilities ok.

The building only functions as a hotel for two months in the summer. The rest of the time it is a school. So that makes it all a bit quirky, but I have no problem with that for a couple of nights. Our bedroom was quite basic, but was fairly spacious, with a good view down towards the lake. We...

We've been here for 2 nights because we had a long trip all the way from höfn. The edda hotets are part time hotels. During the winter, it's a school, in the summer, when the kids have holidays the use it as hotels which in my opinion is a very clever idea. We had an awesome room, with an incredible...

First, the management and staff couldn't have been nicer. Incredibly helpful and attentive, and this hotel is worth visiting for the bread at breakfast alone. But it's still an odd experience - a very plain room in a type of motel lineup, just as some of us remember from college. Walk to the dining room past an indoor basketball court,...

Located not too far away from the Myvatn region and from Akureyri, the hotel itself is a little left alone close to a lake and nothing else. The rooms are very clean. We had both versions, one with a bathroom and one with a common bathroom. Both were perfect. We have also tried the breakfast and there also, the choice...

The Tourist Information Office in Reykjavik booked two of us into the only available room in the Husavik/Acureyri area for two nights midweek in the busy season, and it was the basic B&B hotel Edda Storutjarnir. I was expecting something smaller and more basic. The Edda Storutjarnir is large, modern, and more like a university dorm. The bedrooms are not...

One thing about price has been presented when order was made through the phone (444-4000) but when we left hotel it was charged more because it is "plus" hotel. Specially would like to point on one man at the desk who was very unpleasant and even rude.

We called the same day asking for something cheap. We had everything with us so we just needed a bed. Travelling with two children that don't sleep well we were assured only 4 people per room, so we decided to take it. When we arrived everything looked great, the room was very spacious and there is a little indoor sports...
