I would say it's good, not so great but the location is very nice n near to the central place. The staff was k and friendly, always helping whenever we had a question. The beds were clean n less noisy rooms. I was staying in a 10 bed sharing room and still the Bathroom was clean.

Reasonble hostel with large in-suite rooms and plenty of nearby restaurant & bars to hang out at. The showers here are fantastic! Beds are comfy and the small hostel doesn't have the typical rowdy hallway noises you sometimes get in a central location hostel. The WIFI here is iffy and times out quite often. It is reliable enough for browsing,... More

This was our first time staying in a hostel! It was easy to find as well as an easy walk from the downtown area. The room had 10 beds and everyone in the room was extremely friendly. The only downside to being close to downtown was that many of the other people went out to party until 2,3,4am making it... More

We stayed for several nights in late November, 2016. It is a short walk to downtown and the marina area. Easy access to lots of restaurants and bars. Free street parking was a 5-10 minute walk away. The rooms are small, but comfortable. Ours had a double bed and a bunk bed that we did not need, with a private... More

The Downtown Hostel was so clean and safe. It was my first time as a young female travelling solo, and I would highly recommend this hostel! I stayed in the 10 bed- all female dorm room and couldn't be any more satisfied with how clean the facilities were, and how accommodating and friendly the staff were!

Hadn't styed in a hostel and years and was a bit apprehensive. Very positive experience. Super location Exceptionally pleasant and helpful staff - this hostel's biggest asset in fact. Happy to help with queries while there and before I arrived. I received a warm welcome from Nora when I arrived very late at night. She was always friendly and pleasant... More

Second time reviewing: it's my second time staying here, and I brought my mom to this place. It was cheapest, most convenient place we could find and I wasn't disappointed. We got a clean, private room, which had heated towel racks and really hot showers. There is a communal guest kitchen for cooking your own food, and communal kitchenettes with... More

We have just stayed here for a weekend break in Reykjavik. Nearby/very close: Laugavegur, Harpa Centre, Flea Market, lots of restaurants and shops, visitors centre, Settlement Museum and Hallgrimskirkja. The staff members were very pleasant. I emailed very early in the morning of our arrival to say that we were going to arrive well before 2pm check in, and could... More

I stayed in the 10-bed women's dorm. It was very clean. Everyone in my room was very respectful, even though everyone was coming and going on their own schedule. Reading lights above each bed make it easy for folks to avoid turning on the room light when they came in late or left early. In walking distance to a lot... More

I stayed three nights at the Reykjavik Downtown Hostel. I booked through airbnb and Thomas and his staff sent me very clear directions on how to get to the hostel from Keflavik (KEF). The hostel is located in a very central location of Reykjavik. It's near plenty of restaurants, shops and cafes. I stayed in a 10-person dorm room (Rm#11),... More
