Northern Europe is expensive. I chose this hostel because I needed a place to rest, and didn't want to pay good money for a touristy hotel. The facility was clean, including the bathrooms. Breakfast was reasonable and available the four nights I was there. Well located next to the Old Harbor and the square, it wasn't a problem to find...

The hostel was clean, quite, and a great place to stay for short term if you're in Reykjavik! The bathrooms were well taken care of and breakfast was amazing. Close to bars and restaurants. Highly recommended!

If I could give this hostel more than 5 stars, I would. I volunteered here for a few weeks and it was a wonderful experience! This is a green hostel and I had the privilege of witnessing first hand that they really do practice sustainability behind the scenes at the hostel. I can also testify to the cleanliness of the...

I stayed in a 10 bedroom female dorm and it was really nice. Every person had their own locker and bunk and it was really clean. The kitchen was nice as well and overall the hostel wasn't loud at all even though it was in downtown. I would definitely stay here again- it was really safe for those traveling alone!

double room with no tv what we really appreciated and no music in the breakfast area what was absolutely relaxing. there are a lot of board or card games to use and if you desire more action and nois the city center with its bars and restaurants is just arround the corner.

I really enjoyed my stay at Reykjavik Downtown Hostel. I stayed in a 4 bed dorm and it was quiet and comfortable. The staff are friendly and more than helpful. Plus the location is perfect with many restaurants close by.

A cosy & friendly place to base yourself if you're travelling alone. Its close to the harbour & walking distance to the opera house. Pick a room with a private ensuite as I had to stay in a 8 bunk dorm on my first night with only 1 bathroom & it was hard to get in when you wanted a...

Stayed here for 4 days in March 2016. After being greeted by very friendly staff who all spoke english, and helping myself to a small buffet breakfast I travelled up the (very steep) stairs to find my room. The room was very spacious and the facilities such as toilets and showers were all pristine and newly refurbished. Lockers are situated...

This hostel was clean and in a convenient location. Nothing too special but it was a good base to explore from and the staff were very helpful. The kitchen was really nice and there was a little courtyard area as well.
