Myself and my boyfriend stayed for a week. Upon arrival the centre looked quirky and presentable on the inside, an interesting building, from the outside it is quite unkept and run down. There is no buffet breakfast as stated on booking.com the kitchen is badly kept, we did go shopping in the local supermarket so as to make our own...

On arrival, from the exterior, it was apparent that the place was in a poor state of repair. On entering fears were well founded..there were many aspects that caused concern. The odour of the manager's cigarettes wafted throughout the building. Temporary repairs had been effected as a bannister on the stairs. Plaster was falling off the walls. Electrical connections would...

We were greeted by Siggi the friendly manager and the initial impression was a very interesting building with plenty of space and books. I was not impressed when in my bedroom I could write my name in the dust, it was generally grubby and during the first night, I discovered the bed sheets had been used by the previous occupants....

Siggi managed to meet us on the road while we were trying to figure out where to go. Not sure how he knew we were looking for the Peace House! Decent place to stay...a few things could improve. I didn't have a pillow in for my bed, but I also didn't end up asking for one, I just used the...

Cool, unique spot near a sculpture garden. Very mellow and off the beaten path. The best thing about this place was the INNKEEPER SIGGI! After 2 days in Iceland there wasn't much contact with the locals, the only person that was generous enough with his time and energy was SIGGI. He made our entire trip to Iceland, he will probably...

Seriously, the best feature of this guesthouse is the books. The library here is very diverse and in several languages. The rooms are small and cozy. Television is for owner only. His name is Thor, and he's not very helpful. Siggi is the other man here, and he was much more helpful. I only stayed one night. If you like...

Advertised as 'smoke free'... Smells old musty smokey mixed with good ol fresh smoke. This Hostel is ok, but way off the beaten path, so have a car. Streets/Roads aren't well marked in Iceland, so keep a nice tab of data available on your smart phone to GPS your way ANYWHERE. Also, no hair dryer. Lots of excuses. No black...

Stayed there for 4 nights and this is what I have to say. Room: - Booked a large room to fit the family (4 adults). - Room came with a balcony that overlooks some houses; we could also see one of Reykjavik’s main roads and some very picturesque fells at the background - They were generous with the heating -...

There was no one to check me in, I had to wait 15 minutes in the cold outside. The entire place was extremely messy, papers where all over the table, food was left out, tools were on the floor. Apparently they did not know that I was coming to stay. I even had to help the poor housekeeper check online...

The new building manager was very helpful getting us into the guest house (the PIN for the lock-box had been changed) and was very pleasant to chat with whenever we saw one another. I learned a lot from him! The guest house is large, lots of open space and light, nice library on upper floor. The rooms are pleasant and...
