Stayed here beginning of November. Friendly clean and was surprised how spacious our room was. Great location too. When I go back to Iceland and I will...wonderful place..will definitely stay there again. Nice breakfasts too 😆

We stayed in the Klettur Hotel during our 3 day trip to Iceland and checked out this morning. The hotel is okay, but not the best nor the worst we have stayed in. One issues we had with on arrival was that we couldn't check in until after 3pm after arriving at around 12pm which we didn't see advertised (although... More

Hi Joanna E, Thank you for your comments shared here on TripAdvisor. We are sorry you had to wait for checking in - we are busy as most hotels in Reykjavik during this time of the year and unfortunately we are therefore not able to allow early check in. We need time to clean the rooms before the next guests... More

First the hotel is ok - think generic Holiday Inn. No frills but it gets the job done. The front desk staff was brutal and unfeeling however. We arrived from Toronto at 7:30 in the morning after a redeye flight. There was no early check in - it happens, no big deal. We had to camp out in the lobby... More

Dear Mike M, Thank you for your review. We are so sad to hear about your experience, and we apologize we were not able to provide you with the quality of services you deserve. I agree with you, this is unacceptable and very uncharacteristic of our hotel staff. We are always looking for ways to improve our customer experience. I... More

The hotel is located in a disheveled area. Very basic - absolutely no frills. You only get two towels, one soap, small shampoo and conditioner. No tissues, nothing else. They put me in a basement room facing a ditch. I asked to be moved and the rude girl in the front laughed in my face and said "we don't do... More

Great location, clean warm and comfortable. Decent buffet breakfast to set you on your way. Couldn't fault my overall stay there. Could maybe rearrange reception area seating a little as can be extremely crowded with the amount of people arriving and leaving so no space to get in or out yourself, minor issue though.

The hotel is a little basic but it is hard to actually find a fault. The room was small, but clean and comfortable. As there were 2 occupants, I would have perhaps liked a second chair, but this was not available, even from the front desk. The room was very warm, and it would have been nice to adjust the... More

This hotel is a short walk (about 10 minutes) from the night life (Laugavegur) and is inexpensive, which are the only two things it really has going for it. Other than the fact that there was no smoking and they actually gave you shampoo, I didn't find this place too much different than the average US Motel 6. The walls... More

This hotel was great, for what we wanted. Everywhere was modern & clean. Room had a TV,kettle and hair dryer. The tea/coffee/cups didn't get replaced very often. There was a fridge and safe in the room but couldn't get either to work. The room was comfortable. Breakfast was nice but not a huge amount of choice and was a bit... More

Hotel Klettur is a friendly, clean, reasonably priced hotel in the centre of Reykjavik. The room we stayed in was small and basic but was clean with a large comfortable bed. This hotel was fine. The front desk lady wasn't very friendly when we arrived, but at other times they were very helpful. You can't check in until between 1-3, which makes it hard when you arrive at 8 am from the States, but there is a breakfast/lounge area downstairs with some couches.
