I stayed at the Grand when I visited Iceland for a five day trip before heading for a cruise into the Arctic. Situated at a central location, the hotel makes a great base for travelers looking to explore Iceland. Everything from the rooms and service to the food and people is good, making the stay very pleasant and a memorable...

The hotel itself is just on the outskirts of the main town but it was a ten minute walk in and 5 minutes to the sea front. All the excursions picked up from the hotel and because you were on the outskirts we generally got picked up and dropped off first! The hotel is lovely and clean and the food...

Not in the city. Not great service. Hotel under construction/renovation. Room was nicely furnished, comfortable beds, good blackout drapes. Buffet was extensive but nothing was notable. The dinner buffet was great and everything was delicious.

This was a fantastic hotel. It's close by amenities, and it's modern looking. The room was bright, roomy and comfortable. The only flaw I saw with the room was that we booked an Atrium room (windows face the atrium). The atrium is very open concept, and noises would travel, and in our room on the 3rd floor we could still...

Yes, we felt very welcome by the people at the front deck. They served a better than average breakfast that presented delicious dishes that met every person's liking. And, the snacks served in the sitting area were tasty as well. In the evening, after our tours, the dining room served an excellent meal of seafood with the most helpful servers...

The Hotel overall is good. It is an environmental friendly hotel with different bins for wastes recycle. Breakfast food has many varieties and is said to be organic. But we had an odd room number that it faced the highway and traffic noise is quite annoying especially in very early morning (we opened the windows a bit because we wanted...

Renovations and additions were being done when I stayed there, so sometimes I had a bit of a problem finding my way around the somewhat confusing and rather dimly lit lobby. The staff were polite and nice, the room was big, clean and excellent in every way and everything was in perfect working order. And the view was magnificent. The...

Rooms were clean and comfortable, staff was somewhat friendly, a little cranky but 10 of us showed at 0115 to check in. Staff wouldn't allow a late checkout. Had to sit in lobby for 2 hours because of no late checkout. Lobby super noisy because of construction that started around 8AM.

I had booked a cruise that started in Reykjavik and had one free night pre-cruise at the Grand Hotel. In November 2016 I booked two additional nights prior to the cruise on Bookings.com. This was a non-refundable reservation, something I shall never do again. In March of this year my wife developed severe sciatic pain that requires surgery. I had...

Dear Retiredtravelor2013 I am sorry to hear about your wives surgery, hope she is feeling better. As other hotels, we offer both normal and non refundable rates for our guests who want to visit us. The non refundable rates are 15-25% lower than the normal rates and an excellent choice for those who want to save a bit on their...
