Nice hotel with quick check in and mostly pleasant staff , however it took 3 requests over 2 days to sort out a broken door lock which meant that anyone could enter our room without a key . Enjoyed a lovely set menu dinner at the restaurant however woefully understaffed possibly due to holiday period and also large tour groups...

Dear Pttieuk. Thank you for the lovely review of our hotel. It is indeed possible to see the northern lights directly from our hotel when the sky is clear. Our aim is to provide outstanding customer service and I highly value your feedback. I am concerned about some of your comments, specially the one about your door lock. Could you...

Dear Zishe U Thank you for this lovely review. I am happy to hear you enjoyed your 2 night stay at Grand Hotel. When guest arrive earlier than our 4:00 check in time, we do indeed try our best to give them the room earlier than guaranteed. We wished this was always possible. We stayed for 4 nights of our 7 night stay in Iceland. It is a great base if you want to spend time in Reykjavik. The hotel caters for business and holiday guests. It is out of the city centre but it has free transfers into the town centre 3x per day but no transfers back. It's a 30min walk...

Dear Sportscrazy. Thank you for your review of Grand Hotel Reykjavík. It is a great thing that you mention our happy hour. It is expensive to have cocktails in our city so 50% off is something everyone should take an advantage off. Hope to welcome you another day to Grand Hotel Reykjavík. The hotel is some distance from the town centre ...you could walk there in about half an hour or take a 14 bus which will cost 420kr per person per journey. Lost of staff available to look after customers, the hotel is efficiently run with sauna, bars, restaurants all available on site...the staff on the reception are very helpful indeed...

The hotel is about 30 minutes walk from the town centre. The room was very spacious and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We only book the room but was able to pay for breakfast on the day if we liked, there was a good selection to choose from to eat.

Stayed 3 nights and was completely underwhelmed. I contacted the hotel prior to arrival to request a room with a view - it was my husbands birthday. The agent we used also requested this. On arrival I was told that no such request had been received. So they pulled all the stops out and put us in Room 124 on...

Well situated close to center town and easy access. Staff friendly. Room clean but difficult to control temperature. Very quiet. Safe in the room and fridge. No coffee machine but available in the lobby with costs.

We stayed here a few days ago and enjoyed it very much. It was about a 25-45 min walk into the centre, however we didn't mind that. We are booking again in march and look forward to seeing the hotel again.

From start to finish I couldn't fault this hotel. We arrived 40 minutes before check in time but were informed the wait wouldn't be long, By 2pm we were in our room, perfect!
