Metropolitan is a fine place to stay for a visit to Reykjavik, but it's very no-frills. It's a good base of operations or place to crash if you're going to be out and about all day, but don't expect a luxury experience. On balance I would recommend it for travelers looking for a good value. Pros: - Great location, short...

The hotel was clean but very very basic. Beds comfy. Hotels location is right in the centre of the city. The rooms are very small with a tiny bathroom. Tele, small table but nothing else. No where to get a coffee. Breakfast was expensive for what it was. Cold boiled eggs, toast. Ham and tomatoes. Weak bottled cordials. Warm coffee....

This hotel is very good location wise but it was uncredibly small. Our room was booked as a double room but when we arrived we found that it was no bigger than a small box room. It had a bed and a desk and chair that took up most of the space which left little to absolutley no room to...

I don't understand the negative reviews. My room and bathroom were clean and although small, big enough for me. Lovely and warm. Very quiet. Helpful lady on reception. Great location near to the centre and restaurants. Recommended.

I am currently staying at the hotel and do not have a bad word to say! Yes it's not the most amazing hotel but for what u pay its perfect, it's really quiet and literally seconds away from the main centre. The room is always lovely and warm and the guy at reception is extremely helpful. We arrived 2hours before...

Great place to be if you are visiting Reykjavik as it's almost in the center of downtown. Although I saw few comments about room or bathroom not been clean but I experienced a very clean room & bathroom. Stayed in room 301. Reception is there from 8am to 8pm and the person is very helpful. Good place to stay if...

Room was really dirty, hairs in the beds, grimy floor and the bathroom was grim. The desk had some old envelops and coins in the drawer, presumably from the last occupants. Towels were thin and stained. Toilet roll holder had rusted and was hanging off the wall. Walls are covered in scuffs and marks and the bedside lamps didn't work....

There's plenty of good hotels in downtown Reykjavik that are convenient for the city centre. This, decidedly, ain't one of them. This is a hotel that a decade ago had seen better days. Now it's very very tired with threadbare carpets, rusty towel rails and the whole experience was compounded by an indifferent staff and unpredictable room servicing. The floor...

Great location to be sure! There was nothing about this place that made me feel good about being there....Everything about it was cheap and very ordinary. Sad, synthetic and lumpy bedding, grey towels, if you were lucky enough to get one. The bathroom was terrible - clearly an afterthought. Cheap food at breakfast buffet....lower your standard and all will be...

on reading trip advisor views we came here with much intrepidation and cleaning supplies. on arrival first impressions fed our fear as we noticed threadbare carpet, a very sparse dining area and no staff at reception but an envelope with our name on it containing a key. We very nervously headed up stairs in a very old elevator that nearly...
