We had a nice stay at this hostel, big room, simple but all we needed for our break. The bathroom is shared but was kept very clean. The only downside I would say is that it could be bit noisy with people going in and out of bathroom as hallway echod a bit. Not big problem for me but of...

We stayed in Hostel Village on two occasions in April 2017. We were not pleased with our stay. It was without doubt the least pleasant stay we had in Iceland. No one was there to visit us on the two occasions of arrival or departure. On our second stay we found a map in the envelope with our key to...

This is a hostel, with shared common areas, kitchen and bathrooms. It was very clean, quiet and conveniently located. The WiFi was free in the rooms and I didn't have any trouble with it. The kitchen was kept clean so cooking a meal was easy. Previous guests could leave supplies behind for others to use so there is a variety of...

Firstly, please be reminded that this is a hostel. It's basic but had all the amenities that made my stay very pleasant. I stayed in a single room that consisted of a wardrobe, desk, fridge, sink and night stand. I liked that fact that the room had a kettle with fruit tea and coffee. Towels were also provided. My room...

We are retired, but chose to stay in a hostel because Iceland is a stratospherically expensive country, and because the location sounded ideal. It was fantastic: multigenerational patrons, close to the main shopping street, 2 blocks from a thermal swimming pool we used and enjoyed, easy walk to their cool independent film house BioParidis, and an easy hike to the...

Traveling solo using Wow Airlines free stop-over program, I decide to try a couple of nights in ReykJavik. First up, Iceland is alarmingly expensive. There are several buildings in this 'Village', House #5 was just around the bend (100 ft). My room was very nice, clean and super acceptable. All windows have radiator heating. It appears that geothermal heat is...

4 of us shared a room last week of march, we had one bunk bed and two single beds, all were fine basic but comfortable, we had a desk which was really no use, we had no wardrobe or draws to put anything away so ended up using the space as a floorbrobe as 4 20 somethings with a suitcase...

We booked to stay at the hostel as it was the most reasonably priced: Reykjavik is a very expensive place so we wanted to save money on the hotel so we could use it on day trips. The hostel village is close to the city centre, only about a ten minute walk and you are in heart of Laugavegur (main...

I sometimes read reviews and chuckle. If you are looking for luxury and pampering, why would you book a hotel with the term "Hostel" in its name and then complain? If you are looking for an inexpensive clean room, convenient location and friendly accommodating staff look no further than the Reykjavik Hostel Village. We booked a triple room, three small...

Reading the other reviews of this place, I'm wondering if my standards are just incredibly low? ;) Reykjavik is not a place where one finds too many deals but this is one for sure. It's clean, comfortable, breakfast was nice, and most importantly—cheap. My stay here was A-OK. The location is a little off the beaten path but the city...
