The hotel is located up a gravel road far above Hwy 1; be on the lookout for the sign or you'll miss it. We were coming from the evening ferry from the Westman Islands and it was less than an hour's drive. Despite the charmless lobby, and the tour groups, the room was cozy, the bed comfortable and the shower...

We had 3 rooms booked. We made it straight from the Airport ahead of check in time. The staff has graciously offered free breakfast while they've rushed to prepare our rooms. Clean and simple, excellent location for volcano, glacier, etc walks.

Hairs (a few, not only one ) on the bed sheet and towel upon arrival. No towel hook in bathroom. Internet signal is good, electricity outlet is well located in room. Location is good, a few munites from Dyholaey.

We stayed here 2 nights. The hotel is located on top of a mountain and you have to drive up steep gravel roads to get there, so I do not recommend going there at night. My friend and I were given separate rooms, which was a pleasant surprise. Depending on where you stay in the hotel, rooms are very different....

A rather plain hotel and one used by big tour groups (when we were there many tour busses). Breakfast was acceptable but nothing special. Rooms were basic but clean. The big attraction for this hotel was its location to Reynisjara (Black basalt beach). This beach has great sea stacks and black columnar jointing and a beautiful black sand beach!

clean room, great views. It does get big groups and dinner can be loud and crazy but the views are nice and room comfortable. We saw the northern lights from behind the hotel above the glacier the night we were there. The sunset from our room was amazing. Just outside of vik, about 3 miles or so. I would stay...

Well located for exploring this area of Iceland. Breakfast was well done with something for everyone; dinner meals were also good. Very clean rooms with good view of the countryside. While we were there several tour buses stopped here for meals and to stay - it made it very busy in the restaurant.

Second nights accommodation with Wilderness Tour. Room was adequate size but as well as doona a blanket provided. Tea making facilities. Shower hot water with liquid soap but no other toiletries. More choice for breakfast and although dinner was a set menu very plentiful. If you walk up the hill behind hotel you have a good view of the coast...

The Hotel Dyrholaey is a fairly large property ofwith any rooms. In the morning it offers an amazing view of the coast. the breakfast which was included with our room on our tour was very good,The dinner menu was expensive EVEN by Iceland standards we had two bowls of soup and an appetizer that cost $50! Our waitress was very apologetic...
