My husband booked us 2 nights at this hotel for my birthday. As usual we had our 2 dogs and we were allocated a pet friendly room. Our booking was based on a recent review in The Scotsman newspaper "Travel; Feel like a king at Barony Castle". Quote 'The 16th century tower house is an out of the ordinary hotel...

My friend and I bought a Groupon deal for Barony Castle which consisted of a one hour treatment (choosing from facial, pedicure, manicure or full body massage), two course lunch and full use of facilities. When we arrived to the castle the women on the desk was very friendly and welcoming, directing us through to the spa. My friend and...

Spent one night on a DB&B deal, overall a nice experience. Bedroom and corridors looking a bit tired, public areas good. Food excellent, and service good. Rooms could do with air conditioning, as it got a bit hot and sticky. Main grounds are in good order.

Imposing location of hotel chosen for location near to mountain biking trails. Upon arrival bedroom was not cleaned with fresh stains on the bed linen and toilet paper on the sheets together with previous occupants toiletries and a dirty bathroom. Rather surprised to be told assertively and strongly that I was wrong by reception, it was quite a battle to...

Stayed here with my husband for 2 nights for some pampering before our holiday. When we arrived the reception staff were very helpful and friendly. This hotel looks FAB from the outside and is pretty impressive when you drive up to it. However, the inside is dated and tired. Even the room doors still have keys on keyrings. Breakfast was great! What really ruined it for me was: 1: The internet is a joke! It takes 10 attempts to register, each time "name" , "address"...

Dated and dusty rooms, threadbare carpets, filthy doors, mouldy windows and rusty radiators. Food was poor and overall service was not good value for money.
