Our stay at the Horseshoe was a truly wonderful experience. Room was tastefully decorated, cosy and had everything needed. All members of staff are professional and engage well with guests. Food is exceptionally good and well on the way to Michelin standard. We had three nights db+b chosing a taster menu one evening. Fabulous! Hope to return to this little...

Very disappointed to be leaving my first negative review on trip advisor. Cannot even rate the food or drinks in this restaurant. Being new to the village of Eddleston, my partner and I decided to visit the local 'gem' for a couple of drinks following recommendations that it had a lovely cosy bar to visit. Unfortunately to our disappointment, we...

We celebrated three boys' birthdays this weekend with a family lunchtime meal at the Horseshoe Inn. What a lovely experience, a real treat. We were welcomed at the door and taken to a generous sized lounge with cosy stove, bar and intriguing large round window. We would happily have sat there all afternoon but a fabulous lunch awaited us in...

My wife and I were just passing the Horseshoe Inn and said it has been a long time since we had visited and as it was lunchtime we would have lunch there. Even on a cold winters day we got a lovely warm greeting and were shown to our table (which we had not booked), offered a drink and shown...

Really can't fault the food or the service in this restaurant, however as on previous visits we were the only diners there that evening. With such a quietness and lack of atmosphere it doesn't really inspire one to visit again. Would surely benefit from opening the bar for locals to drink and then hopefully the place would come back to...

Last weekend we celebrated a family birthday at the Horsesehoe Inn with the tasting menu and an overnight stay. We cannot recommend it highly enough. The service was first class. The menu was amazing and every dish was served with aplomb and a generous measure of wine! The dishes just kept coming. From the champagne to the petit fours it...

Avoid this place (both the restaurant and the rooms). Disappointing, overpriced food. Dirty. Lacking atmosphere. Poor response to complaints. Rooms badly in need of updating. Failure to deliver what one would expect would be delivered for a 4 star restaurant with rooms.

The Hospitality Industry is all about people - patrons and staff. The Horseshoe has a well respected reputation for delivering a quality product and I'm pleased to say that our patrons recognise the commitment and dedication of the team. Very occasionally, we find the odd exception and when that happens, there is not much one can do. In this particular...

We stopped here for one night travelling home from Scotland. Since it was our wedding anniversary we wanted something special and were not disappointed. The warm welcome we received set the tone for the whole of our stay, starting with complimentary tea and cake in the comfortable lounge, aperitifs before dinner, through to a delicious breakfast next morning. Our room,...

This was our 2nd visit this year and on both occasions we stayed for 2 nights. On both stays we opted for the tasting menu both nights for dinner, and on both occasions the chef changed it for us completely on the 2nd night – so we had 4 completely different tasting menus. They were all very good but the...

Pleasant stay with a lovely room but it had very small bathroom facilities although everything was very clean. Nice evening meal and had a wonderful breakfast. Overall an ok stop over during our driving tour of East Scotland.
