Driving through the approach road and glimpsing the hotel is an exciting experience, walking through the front door is even better! I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful, our room was gloriously large with an equally wonderful bathroom. The real secret of this hotel is in the detail - everything...

As a gift in celebration of our 50th Wedding Anniversary some friends kindly treated us to afternoon tea at Lewtrenchard Manor, and to take advantage of this we decided to spend the night and we were not disappointed. This is a lovely property set in a beautiful location deep in the Devonshire countryside. Many reviewers have already written in glowing...

This quintessentially English Manor really is a fantastic place for lunch. The estate is set in a beautiful location just south of Dartmoor and is close to Cornwall and the coast. The Jacobean architecture looks like a film set and wandering around the gardens was a real pleasure as they were left to grow naturally and not too manicured, almost...

This north Devon hotel is situated in very pleasenr and isolated countryside. The building itself is not what it seems at first acquaintance, being something of an accumulation. It is however well furnished and has some very attractive architectural features. Our reception was pleasant and efficient. Our room large and interesting, although the bathroom was on the small and bijou...

The answer is clearly NO-this hotel provides a one of kind experience for its beauty, charm, and food. From the moment we walked into the beautiful sitting room to our warm welcome to the amazing grounds, my husband and I were enchanted. We were treated to the history of the building which included the very interesting saga of the current...

We were staying here to celebrate a 50th anniversary, they are so welcoming. We had two rooms which were separate to the main building so it was lovely and private. The rooms are luxurious and the bed so comfy. We dined in the restaurant every course was delicious, only downside being that the service was rather slow between courses. Breakfast...

Stayed at this hotel mid week for just one night en-route to a 50th birthday celebration. The hotel as you would expect for the time of year/week was quiet but this did not affect the level of service provided. We booked two suites, which were suitably decorated for the period of the house; my suite had a four poster bed....

This historic building is so interesting it's worth a stay for this alone. Our courtyard suite was ideal for our large dog. Easy access to the outside and good early morning walk through the grounds. Very comfortable four poster bed and large sitting area. Bathroom had a bath and walk in shower. An excellent evening meal, quail, duck, hake and...

My husband and I treated ourselves to two days here, staying in the glorious St. Gertrude Suite. It is a very special place, having both a very interesting, historical interior and beautiful grounds. The service is excellent and the nothing is too much trouble. There are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room, but a tray is brought up on...

We have just returned from this hotel having spent 5 nights here. It is absolutely charming with delightful service, food and attention to detail. During our stay, my wife was taken ill and needed medical advice, Sue the owner could not have done more for us and assisted us greatly. Fabulous Grounds and Gardens full of Charm and Delight.
