We visited Malta for the first time with an open mind. The Mercury rep was very forceful and we did not bother him at all. The indoor pool (which was part of my holiday) was closed for most of the time. On enquiring when it would be finished various replies were given. It seemed the right hand did not know...

We visited Malta for the first time begining of November, and were delighted with the view from our balcony looking out over Valletta Harbour! There was always something to watch, ferries going back & forth, harbour tour boats, sailing boats, and lovely sunsets most nights! The food was good, and plentiful with lots of choices. We especially liked that we...

If you want a quite break with fantastic views looking over the bay at Valletta book a sea view room. Well situated for the buses and the ferry for exploring. We went half board and was impressed with the buffet style service. Plenty to suit most tastes. Ate too much. Would stay there again.

This is the first time we had stayed at Sliema Bay so it was also first time at the Hotel Fortina. Everything was great, room, the lovely view across Northern Harbour to Valletta, and the hotel staff. As we are both pensioners (as were most of the other guests) better evening entertainment would have been welcome as we prefer to...

Stayed at the Fortina Hotel 4* for a weekend in November 2014. The hotel is a basic 4* star hotel sharing facilities with their sister hotel. When checking in, and room was allocated, I immediately requested to change room, as I refused to stay in this room. Room was small, dull and in desperate need of rennovation. Room was changed...

First time staying in this hotel, although we have eaten here years ago when we used to come before. Very disappointed paid for a sea view, not worth the money we were put on the 7th floor tiny balcony no room to sit on it. There was no draw space in the bedroom, and the bathroom had nowhere to put...

One of the worst weeks of sleep that i have ever had ,even after they moved us from the second floor to the fourth,,all the sea views overlook a very busy road, and to make it worse the air conditioning was turned off so the balcony doors had to be open to allow some breeze into the room, the light and noise...

My wife and I have just returned from a 4 night break at this hotel, and we were very pleasantly surprised. We were not expecting luxury and fine dining at the Fortina and realised from previous reviews that some rooms were much better than others but we booked a superior sea view room to ensure that we had that spectacular...

Very friendly staff here but let down by the hotel itself. There were two lifts but one was out of action all the four nights and the other one was unreliable - my husband was trapped in it one morning! We opened the safe in the room and all the innards fell out! We rang reception but would have had...
