We took advantage of the courtesy bus to and from the harbour most days
Great buffet breakfast , great value afternoon tea we opted for the festive version
Daily room clean and refill of toiletries and again of an evening
Didn’t realise / think quite a few restaurants shops closed for a few months this time of year
Had a great time a lovely room with views out to sea and the garden we really look forward to returning
Breakfast is buffet style with plenty of offerings and a chef egg station. Lovely Marina is there with a glass (or two!) of bubbles every morning which was a great way to start the day! – George and Yannis are also there at your service with a genuine smile and all overseen by Andreas who manages the slick and friendly team
Half Board dinners varied between different themed buffets which had plenty of choice and good quality, and some evenings, Table d’hote offering a choice of 3 starters, 3 mains and 2 dessert – again really good food, well presented. As with breakfast all expertly overseen by Andreas and his fantastic team.
Prior to dinner we would watch the fabulous sunset on the terrace with a cocktail and scurry back up post dinner to watch the nightly entertainment - thank you Kyriaki (Kiki), Lorena and Kristina for the great service and friendly chats. Cocktails were on the whole great, reasonable priced, and all overseen by Emma the bar manager
Rooms are good with lovely Molton Brown amenities – an adequate hotel gym with adjoining studio with plenty of weight and dumbells and social distance measures in place. Make sure you book a time slot prior to going. Didn’t use the spa but a friend had a lovely massage there
We lazed on sun loungers on the grassed area of the hotel and the pool bar team are very attentive bringing you drinks whenever needed.
Due to Covid restrictions the swim up seats at the pool bar are out of action and can only order lunch food at one of the restaurants or through room service which was very efficient.
You can always tell a good hotel by the many happy faces that are staying there – and after having spoken to several guests this hotel has many repeaters and we will now definitely be joining them.
All in all despite Covid we were able to enjoy extremely relaxed, stress free holiday with fantastic service and friendly staff – Thank you Elysium
The staff in all areas was friendly and polite, willing to help, with a smile on their face at all times. The rooms were cleaned at least twice a day, providing us with new toiletries and towels each time. The swimming pools were spotless clean and the pool-bar service although not fully-functioned (due to covid restrictions) was excellent.
My only comments for improvement this year have to do with the food (just tiny details that one might not even pay attention to!): “Nutella” at breakfast did not taste like nutella, “Special K” at breakfast was not Special K but some other brand and the buffet, this year, was not as good as last year. But that’s just our taste buds :)
Will definitely return!
It has been mentioned by other posters, but the staff at Elysium really are the most professional and friendly of any resort hotel we have stayed at. Nothing is too difficult for them, and anything we asked for was always greeted with a lovely smile and quick service.
The grounds are beautiful, and maintained every day, and the facilities are also very well maintained and kept spotless. The pool areas and surrounding parkland in front of the beach are always clean and lovely to walk around and lounge around. Pool staff always around to take your order, and the Mediterranean restaurant serves delicious lunch, with large servings at very reasonable prices. The rooms are very large, clean and have all the facilities one would want, and I would recommend spending a little bit more for a sea view room. Watching the sunset glowing red from the balcony over the sea, was a delight. Breakfast is amazing, and Marios the omelette maker always greets you with the warmest smile every morning. We had the half board, and the buffet dinners were always packed with a great variety of lovely food, which changes nightly to different types of cuisines (Asian, Italian, Mediterannean etc ).
Also recommend having a lunch at some point at the indoor bar area on the first floor , in front of the reception area. The surroundings are really lovely and the food was fantastic.
If we were to ask for any improvement, it would possibly be the kids club. Seemed dark and uninviting. Could possibly have had some background music to make it a bit more fun, and maybe some organised daily activities ? It has a nice softplay area, but our kids (4 and 7) found that there wasnt really much for them to do.
Very short drive from the airport and love that we were able to use the spa area for our showers on the last day, as we had a late flight and got to enjoy an extra day at Elysium. It was sad to leave but already planning our return, which will be very soon.
The room is beautifully decorated, the duvets are fluffy, there is a great choice of pillows, plenty of white towels and luxury toiletries by Molton and Brown.
We fell in love with the charm of the hotel and the warmth of the people working here, Elysium, we will be back soon. It has become a home away from home. Thanks so much Evdoxia and all the team (incl. Cynthia, Nicos, Alla, Daniela, Marina and Cedric)
Every member of staff from housekeeping, reception, restaurant and waiting on team through to the pool bar and sun bed team were so helpful and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The Covid sanitisation and cleaning regime was thorough and gave you genuine confidence so that you could relax. The hotel itself is beautiful and spacious and the rooms are well proportioned.
I huge thank you to everyone at the hotel who helped make this such a great holiday. I would highly recommend a visit here, and it certainly won’t be our last!
We arrived on a wet Christmas day to be met by Xenophondas who welcomed us with a smile, took our bags and showed us to reception. Later he showed us to our room and explained in detail all the wonderful features, including mood lighting in the bathroom!
Our room was spacious and well appointed overlooking the swimming pool and terraces. The hotel is spotless in all areas. Breakfast was amazing and the staff were always helpful, from Alla & Katarzyns who greeted you to Nico Antoniou who made you welcome in the restaurant. Evening meals are buffet style, with something for everyone from fresh salads to roasts and pasta dishes. The grounds are beautiful and lead to the promenade if you turn to your left its a 20 minute walk to the Harbour and town centre.
This hotel is luxurious and I hope to return again some day
The first contact from the reservations department, thank you Gabriella, we felt the hospitality and the professionalism! Upon our arrival at the hotel, we felt very welcomed, special and respected. The reception ladies were very kind.
Adrian helped us with our luggage, he took our car keys, attended to our luggage and then parked our car in the underground parking.
The classy, luxurious room was spotless and well equipped. Not to mention, a beautiful birthday cake placed in our room! We booked half board and had our first dinner at the buffet restaurant. An endless variety of cold and hot dishes, everything of top quality and very well cooked. Miles apart from the standard or traditional buffets.
Exceptional care from the housekeeper that took care of our room, while we had our dinner, and made sure that the room was tidy, prepared our bed, the lighting, and all needed for a good nights sleep.
Breakfast... what can I say! The best ever!! Fresh, rich and large varieties to suit all tastes! From the cheese, charcuterie, fruit, salads, omelettes, fried, boiled or poached eggs, to the freshly made Pancakes, waffles etc. (really loved the waffles).
It is worth mentioning that the hygiene measures due to Covid-19 pandemic are excellent. I feel extremely safe staying at this hotel and have already booked our next stays! Even the pool sun-beds are disinfected often and daily!
I fully recommend the Elysium Hotel!
