No we found the hotel, food and staff to be lovely, plenty of choice on the food and the dress code in the evening made it a bit special, you know what they. Say you can please some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time. Just as a footnote we attended a wedding at the carol beach hotel, and although the meals were paid for we also paid 45 euro per person to be all inclusive for the day (arriving at 2pm the bar opened for us at 2.40 and the drinks were light on the spirits and I have never seen a bar close and disappear so quick at 11pm) also there we very little choice of vegetables potatoes only and no evening buffet. And I know the bridal couple were disappointed with their rooms and were offered n upgrade for a extra 700euros. At the Ascos the bar staff were certainly generous with the measures yes it was local spirits but drinkable. A lot of the reviews in my mind are either from worried competitors or people who would be very hard to please. You get what you pay for and we will certainly return
