Tastefully taken back to basics, moving away from cumbersome hospitality and towards the uncomplicated and a sense of well-being - this is what Hotel Daniel has specialised in. "Smart Luxury" perfectly caters for today's travellers and their requirements: Intelligently equipped rooms, with a timeless, aesthetic design, 'rain-dance' showers in the daytime and free WiFi all over the building. Check in is looked after in the espresso bar, which is open 24 hours and located in the generously sized hotel loft. With a fireplace in the lounge, it's also the perfect place for relaxation and reading or for business, which is already fun by breakfast time here. After all, the breakfast is the best in the city. The Daniel is within 10 minutes walking distance from the city centre and busses and trams run from next to the train station. Or explore the surroundings with the Daniel electro vespas.

We were here for a stay in September 2023. The hotel was photographed very well. The reality looks different. But well - that's not so bad. Everyone likes it differently.
What we found a bit stupid. We booked a room with a dog and it was explained right at the beginning that a room without a carpet had been chosen because a dog makes a lot of dirt and that would make cleaning easier. Everything was fine with the room without a carpet, but you don't say something like that to the guest. In addition, a dog is not free and with the minimal size of the rooms, vacuuming the carpet is not too much.
The question the next morning whether we could have a coffee even without booking breakfast was very funny. Annoyed and dismayed, we had to ask somewhere whether that was even possible. Conclusion: Completely overpriced espresso-sized coffee which cost just under 4 euros. A no would have been fine too, since we thought the breakfast price of 22 euros was excessive anyway and wanted to eat out. Same thing at check out. Staff unfriendly and annoyed. It doesn't have to be that way!
Another highlight was the parking space. Of course there were no parking spaces available at the hotel. A parking garage further away was offered for a price that would have been twice as high as the public parking spaces directly in front of the hotel.
The web presence is fantastic. Praise to the e-commerce team. The hotel staff - well, they should definitely improve that.

Ideal location for city exploration Train station, subway and bus station can be reached in 2 minutes, yet very soundproof rooms. Room a bit old, musty carpet in the hallway. Rich breakfast and relaxed service.

+1
Hotel Daniel Graz is directly next to main train station in Graz, yet no noise at night. Very close to city, easy walk and also lots of good cafes/restaurants nearby. The room is fun and has German influences in design, really liked it. Breakfast was incredible so definitely recommend including it in your stay.

The hotel was booked for one night stay Sept 6-7, it was booked in the late evening one day before the arrival. Due to a bad weather Lufthansa flight from Frankfurt to Graz on Sept 6th evening was cancelled and postponed to the next day Sept. 7th.
I have contacted the hotel right after announcement about the flight cancellation on Sept 6th at 6pm explaining the situation. The person at the reception told me that they are willing to cancel and refund but this has to be done through booking .com and the hotel has no problem to refund.
I have contacted booking.com and they told me that there is as well no problem from their side to cancel and that they forwarded the cancellation request to hotel Daniel.
The next day, I have been contacted by booking.com customer service telling me that they have not received any response from Hotel Daniel and that hotel Daniel is not responsive.
The hotel Daniel thereafter contacted me and informed me that they will not refund and that I was late to claim the refund, taking into consideration that the guy at the reception told me they have no problem to do that.
Moreover, hotel daniel refused to respond to bookin.com claims.
Therefore, anyone booking hotel Daniel, might just lose the money in case any emergency happens. They are not responsive and cant stick to one opinion, once telling they can another time that they cant refund. Very unprofessional.

For years we have been travelling to Graz every autumn to attend the "Styrian Autumn" events. We have rarely visited a hotel more than once.
We knew the Daniel (or "the"?) from the outside and were keen to try it out as a place to stay. From the outside it is pure fifties - not in an unpleasant way at all.
Inside you immediately arrive in the present day. Very stylish with well thought-out details.
The rooms are a bit minimalist, but certainly sensibly and attractively furnished. The solution with the sliding door for the shower and toilet is great. So you can accept the open sink in the room.
Despite the busy traffic all around, it is quite quiet at night thanks to special windows.
The breakfast is recommended: a wide variety is offered in a pleasant atmosphere, with something for every taste and every need. Personally, I didn't like the coffee from the machine so much; I am spoiled by hand-filtered coffee.
There are various e-bikes available to rent in the foyer.
We preferred the weekly ticket for public transport. It is very well positioned in Graz and the Daniel, with its location right next to the train station, is the perfect starting point.
There is one criticism, however: "Ready to connect when the network quality improves."
We saw this message on the displays of our devices too often for a modern hotel.

The hotel location is very convenient as you walk straight off the train and into the hotel. The room was spacious and had views of the city. The breakfast was reasonable and all facilities and staff were great. From the hotel there are coffee shops close by and plenty of shopping

We enjoyed the our stay at Hotel Daniel Graz, but we must point out that the room looked better in the online pictures.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Upon our arriving, the bathroom light in our room was not working so we went to report it to the staff. The lady informed us that the technician is already gone (it was Friday at around 18:00), but she'll find a way to fix it. We went to visit the city and upon our return, the light was fixed.
Our overall experience at Hotel Daniel Graz was great.

Although the breakfast time is stated until 10:00, the tables and buffet are cleared audibly from 9:20. Milk is no longer available from 9:45. It is not refilled. The staff in the breakfast area makes an unfriendly impression and just wants to finish quickly.

The location is particularly convenient, just outside the station (on the right when leaving) and a stone's throw from the corresponding tram station.
The room is pleasant, the bedding comfortable and the shower large; no fridge.
The breakfast is very varied, especially (too?) salty, but a little expensive.
Apparently it is possible to rent bikes on site.

Hotel very comfortable for a short city visit. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable, duvet is so nice. Carpets in room give it a more basic feel but the room has what you need for a short trip. Rooms are quiet. There’s no frills but has what you need. Breakfast is fantastic. Staff are polite. Good location for public transport: trains, buses & trams. It’s an easy 20 min walk into the centre Hauptplatz der Stadt Graz.
