In 2012 – a long time ago – a review stated “is the Hotel Gollner’s preferred accommodation for a long time”, but now we have not been to this hotel since 2013 (see the review “Again a pleasant stay in Graz” from July 2013). Booking via the website quickly confirmed, a few days before arrival by e-mail the offer “... e.g. restaurant reservations, theatre tickets or excursions, we are happy to help you” – very nice, but we did not need. We were received very friendly at the reception (and also otherwise nicely looked after, e.g. with desired information after bus connections etc.). The booked Classic Deluxe room was street-side (therefore traffic noise and also from the opposite construction site) on the second floor, large and well equipped with double bed, bedside box with shop (or in the case of a bed full of charging a radio) and light next to it, large desk with TV (no station list) on it and armchairs in front of it, two armchairs with small tables, minibar, telephone, information material about hotel and Graz, in the vestibule box with safe in it and enough space for hanging and laying, large storage for e.g. the suitcases. Sanitary area with shower (no tub as requested), hairdryer, small toiletries, soap and shampoo dispenser at washbasin and in shower, toilet in the same room. Missing was a glass for brushing teeth (was not brought in despite requests at reception, very well was a desired bathrobe) – we just took one from the minibar. Everything was very clean and well maintained, even the service was fine. One downside, however, was that the parquet floor – which was very nice in itself – creaked a lot when walking over it, but was disturbing at night. The breakfast – we had a “website special price with gourmet breakfast” – was in a nice room, sufficient supply of food, pastries and pastries in buffet form, drinks to pick up ourselves, nice service when clearing used dishes. It was with all our plans (concert in the Stefaniensaal, meeting with friends in Graz, visiting friends in St. Stefan ob Stainz, visiting an exhibition in Stainz Castle, etc.) after a long time again a nice stay not only in Graz and the surrounding area, but also (despite the small “minus points”) at the Hotel Gollner.

We were in Graz to see the opera and this hotel has the best location for it, a 3-minute walk! The city center and sights are all within walking distance. The room was beautiful and completely (!) newly renovated, the soundproof windows are worthy of their name, very quiet sleep despite being on the street side. Very attentive and humane staff. The breakfast was wonderfully varied and special requests were also fulfilled. Very nice breakfast terrace and rose garden - sure to be great in the warm season. A very warm and down-to-earth hotel!

Excellent location for visiting Graz's old town, especially for visiting Graz Opera (as was the case with me). Price / performance are fine, the staff was very nice and attentive throughout. The room and bathroom are rather simple, but everything you need for a short stay is available. The windows are first class, which is why you really hear very little to nothing of the street noise. The bed in my single room was pleasantly wide and the mattress very good. Also the breakfast buffet was more than sufficient. Gladly again, have already booked for January.

The location is very central, the hotel provides a paid parking lot (18€ per day). Our room was a "Junior Suite" (No. 110) and looked a bit dated, but very clean and above all very quiet - thanks to double windows. You actually hardly noticed the heavy traffic. The bed was unfortunately a bit disappointing because it was only 160cm wide - in my opinion that's not a double bed and no longer up to date. The mattress and pillows were top notch and very comfortable.
A small refrigerator in the room is also very pleasant, as is the air conditioning.
The breakfast buffet was very extensive, everything you're looking for - well worth the price.
The wellness area is small but OK, unfortunately the sauna wasn't switched on when I was there - but the infrared cabin was. For 8€ it was definitely worth the visit (to shower after the marathon).
Very nice staff at reception, our special requests (such as a forgotten charging cable) were all fulfilled and answered in a friendly manner.
We used the roof terrace for a coffee before we left, which was also very nice - with a view of the clock tower.
We would come again :)

This time I had a room on the quiet inside (rose) garden, which I really enjoyed in the summer, although the rooms facing the street are also no problem due to the good insulating windows. Also beautiful is the partly covered roof terrace with various furnishings and a wide view to the Graz Clock Tower! An existing refrigerator offers guests the opportunity to relax with a small refreshment, for example on the lounger. The kindness & commitment of the staff at the reception is always a pleasure, the excellent location of the house near two pumice stops and the walking distance to the city center, Mur & Stadtpark as well as the Kaiser Josef market do the rest.

The place is good. The old town is within walking distance. There are many green spaces nearby. Our dog was also very welcome at the hotel. The price-performance ratio was unfortunately not right. The hotel room was large and relatively quiet. For EUR 260 but a bit unkindly furnished. At the room rate we would have had to pay about EUR 25 per person for breakfast. On request we were offered the "small" breakfast for EUR 8.50. The scope was not explained in detail in advance and led to unnecessary discussions. Too bad!

As a couple, we stayed in Graz for three (3) nights when it was very hot.
The staff were very helpful and friendly when we made the booking.
There was a parking space for the car in the hotel's own garage (€19 / day). That meant we didn't have to look for a parking space.
We mainly wanted to visit the city center. The hotel is very conveniently located for that. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Herrengasse. Interesting: Tram rides are free on Herrengasse and one stop beyond.
The room was spacious and clean. The air conditioning was easy to adjust; it was also very useful when the temperature was over 35 °C.
The breakfast buffet was very varied.
The hotel has four (4) stars. If I compare it with other hotels that also have four (4) stars, then the rating is completely justified.
We didn't use the wellness area.
I can 100% recommend the hotel.

Hotel secluded from the historic center but within walking distance in about 10 minutes. We were on a motorcycle and we chose it because it has a private garage (for a fee). Structure dated but well maintained, very large rooms. Drinks machine in the lobby. Good breakfast.

We felt very comfortable at the Hotel Gollner. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel is modern and comfortably furnished without losing the charm of an old city hotel. The location is perfect, the old town can be reached on foot in just a few minutes.

Yes, I repeat, modern. Although at first glance when you arrive at reception it seems like a hotel stuck in the past, everything changes when you enter the rooms. Completely renovated and modern, they have everything you need. The bathroom is very comfortable, as is the bed. Breakfast is of excellent quality. I will stay here again. My address in Graz
