Very convenient location to explore the main attractions. Just behind the Murinsel, very close to the Schlossbergbahn and 5-10 min walk to the center and the main square. Express check in and check out, very clean, the reception does not work from 10 pm till 10 am. Own parking 10 eur per night.

We spent a weekend here, from Friday to Sunday. The person who registered us was very nice and lead us through everything we needed to know. The room was nice, clean and tidy. We just did not expect the shower to be actually in the room. The place has not waiting zone or something in front, for 10-15 minutes of parking to register before going to the parking lot. Other bad side was, we agreed with a person on reception to get a little late check out, on 13.30 instead of 12.00. At 12.00 or so, the person came and was throwing us out, he came knocking twice.

We arrived late in the night and we got properly served by the staff at Mercure Hotel to get into the rooms.
However the smell of the rooms was heavily after tobacco. Especially the restroom in room 112 was stinking like hell. My kid started to cough because of the odor.
One of the bed sheets in room 111 had a spot like a blood stain.
We were completely tired after the long drive and we didn't return back to Mercure lobby to change the rooms.
Bottom-line: I fully understand the equipment of the rooms is limited according to the 2* standards, but the cleanness should not be suffering/compromised.

I stayed in this hotel for four nights. I basically was out for meetings all day so I required a cheap place to sleep with basic facilities. What can I say? Great location, no frills, helpful reception and fast efficient check-in with automatic machine ( I arrived at midnight so reception was closed). Breakfast was basic but it was good, . I do not understand some of the comments . What do you expect for 46.50 EUR per night? I gave 4 out of 5 only due to WiFi. It was highly unstable.

staff was unfriendly and rude, the floors are dirty and filthy, the worst mattress I ever slept on, NEVER AGAIN. Usually even ibis BUDGET hotels have a certain standard, this one clearly hasn't. Noisy neighbourhood, located next to a dormitory.

The hotel was dirty in every floor, since the entrance. All the corridors were dirty and most impressive, our room was with at least one month of dust. We had to clean our beds frame before even try to sleep.
The front desk is run by a teenager who could not handle all requests. Also, the front desk was closed in many occasions, so you do not have anyone to complain to. A total lack of MANAGEMENT!!

Dear Johann B, thank you for reviewing your stay! We are so sorry that your room was not clean and we made several serious mistakes during the cleaning. We do apologize for all inconveniences that caused you! For your comfort in the future - between 11:00 and 17:00 and 22:00 and 06:30 next morning, when reception is not open, there are 2 emergency buttons directly at the entrance. This will connect you 24/7 with a colleague who can arrange a quick room change - or at least note your complain for me to take care about it next morning. We kindly inform you that all our colleagues are grown up and trained to handle all requests we think are expectable at a 2 star budget hotel. However sometimes all of us are surprised by a question we were not prepared to - and/or do not have the resources to handle it in acceptable speed in that moment. We lived there in a double room (Euro46 per night) in May 2006.
It is located near the bus stop in Lendplatz. If you are taking bus from the central Graz station, it should take you around 10 mins to get there.
We arrived there at around 10 pm. The hotel door and the reception counter was already closed. This hotel is using a system that each room has been assigned an unique passcode which is used to open the hotel main door, enable the escalator to operate and open the door of your own room. There is a machine outside the hotel which is used for picking up the passcode with the booking number/credit card.
After we picked up our passcode and went to our room, we were very surprised to find that the room was not cleaned up yet! We felt annoyed as the reception was already closed at that moment. So we went downstairs to call their emergency hotline. After we stated our case, they were quite friendly and asked us to call back in a few minutes such that they could find another room for us. So on our 2nd call, they assigned a new room and the passcode to us.
Finally, we were there. The room was quite clean. The bathroom had a transparent door . It may make you a bit embarrassed if you are not traveling with your boy/girl friend ^_^.
There are hotels located right next to the Graz train station and we chose this hotel over other well-located hotels as those hotels were priced at around Euro70 something while this self-served(kind of) hotel were priced below Euro50.
