The rooms were old with old furniture. Old parquet, and the room had a specific and different odor. I can not say it was a bad smell, but it felt the old in the air ... Also, the bed was not so comfortable. Does not...More
Stopped here for a couple of nights whilst exploring the city. Hotel is conveniently located for the railway station and the main tourist attractions. Traditional in style. Above ground parking available. Very good restaurant but shut on Sundays. More choice than you could want for...More
Because of a 2 night stay.......arriving by train from Munich...and then returning to Munich, this hotel made sense. it really IS close to the train station and a pleasant walk into old town Salzburg. Mirabel Gardens is really close.
We especially liked the room off...More
We really enjoyed our stay at the Achat Plaza. It was a couple blocks from the train station and a 10-15 minute walk to all the various tourist sites. The air conditioning worked well (for which we were very grateful since it was so hot!)...More
Hotel is located about a 10 minute walk from the Mirabell palace. So it's not in the old city, but its walkable. Our room was spacious, clean, and well appointed. There is a unisex sauna and spa. Parking is 10 Euro per day. Worth it...More

This was my second visit to this hotel and when I do go back again to Salzburg this would be my first choice. We went in 2007 and again June of this year. The hotel restaurant and breakfast area have changed between visits. The hotel rooms are good sized and clean and comfortable. They look the same as when I went in 2007 but everything is in good shape. The hotel is an easy walk from the train station (less than a 5 min walk). There are buses you can take but Salzburg is a very walkable city. We were there for 6 days and only used the bus in the city twice. We ate two night in the old town area and two night at the Augustine's beer hall (personal favorite) and two night in the hotel bier garden. There is a supermarket in the train station now which is new. You can't get anything you need. There is also a laundromat from the hotel, maybe a 10 min walk or you can take the bus. The rooms are air conditioned we were there and they were having a heatwave (temp above 90 f) which is very rare for them. Had a superior double room when we stayed both times. breakfast is not included like it was in 2007 but there is a lot to choose from so we found it was worth it. We used Salzburg as a base and took the train to Werfen to do the ice caves and to Hallstadt and took the bus over to Bertchesgarden, Germany where we did the salt mine tour and went upon the Eagles nest. Anyway hope that helps, Salzburg is my wife and I favorite town this was our fourth trip there and I am ready to go back. Let me know if you have any questions. I know Salzburg really well. Also look into getting the Salzburg card worth the money
