Good hotel with nice atmosphere . It is very clean , with all the facilities and a modern style. You can easy reach the city centre by metro. Breakfast was really very good and complete. Highly recommended!
We were here as tourists, not on business, and this Marriott Courtyard suited us well. (We were using Marriott "points" and this property gave us the best value in Vienna. It is not in the tourist zone.) Our room (corner) was clean and comfortable. We...More
Surprise with some of the poor reviews, stayed here last month. Check in went smoothly without delay, friendly welcome receptionist. Room spacious, modern deco & clean with very comfy bed & large bathroom. Breakfast consisted a good selection of cold & hot foods, breads, cereals,...More
The facilities are all good. The only bad thing is the attitude of the front-desk staff who are not at all customer friendly. I had a business trip to Vienna and the location of this hotel was very convenient as next door to the client...More
One of the worst disappointments ever. We chose Marriott in order to have everything working as we were planning to stay at the hotel and not head to downtown that night. The personnel was like they had been eating mud when I gave some feed...More

Welcome to one of Vienna’s trendiest quarters. The second district has witnessed a turbulent ride, from medieval swamp to vibrant Jewish quarter, from pleasure ground for the noble and humble to current hip residence and workplace of Vienna’s creative crowd. Cross the Danube Canal from the city centre and take in life on Taborstrasse with its mix of old townhouses, churches, theatres, discount shops and
ethnic restaurants. Head for Augarten via Karmelitermarkt, Leopoldstadt’s trendy marketplace. Baroque Augarten itself hosts a bizarre mix of manicured hedges and flowerbeds in front of a colossal World War II defense tower, the publicly accessible 300-year-old Augarten porcelain manufactory, the palatial boarding school and funky concert hall of the Vienna Boys Choir, and the modern art museum TBA21. At its opposite corner, The Prater not only houses the Giant Ferris Wheel but blends a bustling amusement park with lush woodland, perfect for a bike tour. Further east is the old derby racing ground of Krieau.

I have since been to this hotel a second time and my impression is vastly different than the first. There is very little within walking distance, especially in winter. There are definitely no shops, or cafes, for breakfast, and the food at the hotel is overpriced Courtyard fare. The hotel also negotiates nothing - so no breakfast will mean no breakfast.
It is NOT close to the city center, which is where NYE activities would be. I would do a stretch and look at Starwood as you can transfer points - they are the better hotels in Vienna.
