Stayed there for a few days, while attending performances at the Opera. The location couldn't be better- you can walk over to the opera house in 5 minutes. But quite apart from the location it is a great hotel. Furnishing tasteful, spacious room, beautiful bathroom. Excellent, friendly service. Not cheap, but quite reasonable price for the luxury they offer.

We have stayed here 3 times and always enjoyed the Derag...but having booked a superior apartment for 4 nights, it turned out to be less than ideal. The kitchen was a joke with 2 rings and a tiny sink. The so-called dining area was a small table, half of which was taken up by a coffee machine! No cups, no...

The Derag Livinghotel is located at Karlsplatz, a central transportation hub located at the start of the famous pedestrian walk. Less than a block away is the Vienna State Opera, one of the most well-known musical venues in the world; within two blocks is the Albertina, featuring exhibits from artist such as Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, Durer, and more. We stayed at this apartment-hotel for five days in early January. The location is superb: right above the Karlsplatz U-Bahn station, with links all over the city, and right at the start of the Inner Stadt, using Kartnerstrasse as its thoroughfare. The hotel complex itself is interesting: the lobby is all old world Vienna, with portraits of Kaiser Franz Josef...

The old city just right in front of the hotel, parking lot is quite difficult and expensive, but the staff will tell you where to park with a good price. The enterance is quite small, we missed the hotel as it is not so eye catching. We have been in some of Derag hotel in Germany, so we expected it...

Location is just perfect just off Ringstrasse hence within walking distance of all main attractions. Main metro station just next to the hotel. This was my second visit at this hotel and notable improvements are in place, especially beautifully furnished and decorated reception with free coffee and soft drinks minibar. Renovation is still ongoing so some rooms are refurbished but...

Can't beat the location - a few minutes walk to the main shopping and cathedral, 1 min to Karlsplatz transit station which offers a 5min ride to the main train station or 10mins to Schonbrunn Place, both for E2.20. Had a comfy 3rd floor studio with kitchenette, tiny lift and we used the stairs. There is a terrific Spar Premium...

CAnt say enough about the place. Enormous room with alcove for extra bed. Free water, beer, OJ and high end coffee. Very helpful staff. It is very close to the opera and shopping streets beyond. Also walkable to most restaurants. Some rooms are smaller but we got 107 which is perfect. Enormous bathroom with high end shower.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
