My husband and I were looking for a hotel in the old city and were extremely happy with our choice. I really appreciated the dual sinks which made it very efficient getting ready in the morning. Room 107 was quiet and quite roomy. The staff were friendly and efficient, especially the breakfast staff. Breakfast hours are unusually long, 6:30 -... More

You'll never see it from the street, but it is a wonderful little hotel in the heart of Vienna, very comfortable and convenient to everything downtown. If you like exploring the neighborhood on foot, and you're not shy about staying in a small, but comfortable place away from the usual tourist throng, this is the place for you. There are some... Was there for vacation and loved this hotel. Steps from Stephansplatz and Mozarts home. Walked to everything! Breakfast is simple but good. The rooms... our room was huge and really comfortable. I highly recommend this to anyone visiting Vienna. Just recommended it to a co-worker that's thinking about visiting.

Specifically wanted a smaller, traditional style hotel centrally located in Vienna. After much research chose this hotel & was delighted. Very well located just by St Stephens Cathedral but in quiet adjoining side road that is also a very easy gentle stroll to Central Station where the Airport Express (CAT) train arrives. The room was elegant & quiet, being very... More

Enough with the grumpy reviews, Vienna calls! I always wanted to visit Vienna after seeing “The Third Man” and it has never disappointed in the thirty odd years that I have been going. And for the last six I have stayed at this hotel. It is to my mind the very best hotel in Vienna, probably in Austria and is... More

This is an excellent European hotel. It sets the standard for hotels in the area. It is human. The people who operate the hotel are pleasant, kind, generous, and just good people. They are genuinely helpful and not only looking for a gratuity. The reception desk is welcoming and extremely efficient. The housekeeping is perfect. The restaurant is wonderful, and... More

This hotel has operated since 1746 serving dignitaries and other guests, but the amenities and conveniences are thoroughly modern. Our room was spacious, slightly larger than the one occupied by our daughter and son-in-law. The wood paneling on all 4 walls and classic furniture definitely gave the room a traditional feel. Although we were just a few blocks from St.... More

This was my second time at the hotel. I has a smaller room as i asked for the cheapest option, but even that one was good enough to make feel like at a friendly, cozy place. This hotel is fabulous. I remembered an article that I had read in a magazine about this hotel fully 20-25 years ago, and so I decided to give it a try. It did not disappoint! I cannot say enough good things about the hotel and the staff. Highly recommended!

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
