The Sacher Hotel in Vienna, the original Sacher hotel and the home of the famous Sacher Torte, is a glorious spot in the center of Vienna with large spacious rooms and superb dining rooms which cater to Austrian cuisine. The concierge service is excellent, and the daily fresh fruit delivered to the room is wonderful! The stay in Vienna was...

Over the last four months I’ve stayed at two “Icon hotels”—Raffles in Singapore, and Hotel Sacher in Vienna. The parallels are almost uncanny. Both are old; both large; both offer up overpriced “destination items (sling and café cake); both have “halls of fame” packed with mainly old photos of singers, super models, and Presidents, Prime Ministers and Royals who have...

I had seen photos online that had formed my expectations, quite wrongly. Once I got over the surprise, I found the rooms to be quite lovely. See the rooms on the hotel website, as they are accurate representation of decor, although I think the rooms were actually a little bigger than they look in photos. They were very spacious and...

This was definitely one of the best hotels I've stayed at. Not only were the staff incredibly nice but the location is dead center. Breakfast was lovely, the concierge very helpful with all my questions and restaurant bookings and the overall experience was definitely pleasant. As an added bonus, the spa team was amazing. If you have a chance, I...

Stayed for 5 nights had two rooms. One of the best in Europe. The hotel is located across the Opera house and the Albertina. It is within a 5 min walk of the Hofburg Palace Complex. My family and i had a wonderful time and if we return to Vienna we will stay here again.

Loved the Sacher! As with all the best hotels, the quality of the staff is make-or-break, and this is "Make" - big time! Before we even arrived, the concierges had arranged several activities for us and we were thrilled with the restaurant reservations they made for us, as well as with the best seats for Swan Lake at short notice....

I stayed in this wonderful hotel in February. Even though the weather was terribly cold outside, the atmosphere inside the hotel was very cozy. Luxury and classical hotel which make you feel very special. Very attentive concierge, very friendly staff who takes care of each step you make. Rooms are classical but very fresh. Buffet breakfast was very nice as...

We just finished 4 wonderful nights at the Sacher Hotel celebrating my wife's 50th birthday. The hotel is gorgeous and intimate, and our room was an amazing corner junior suite on the 4th floor that looked out onto a really busy street scene and the state opera house below. It should have been noisy, but the double windows completely shut...

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
