Elegant and classic, this is the perfect European "grand" Hotel! Lovely room, friendly, helpful staff, and the perfect location! My husband attended a conference during the days, so I was on my own navigating the city. Hotel de France is right on the Ringstrasse, just cross the street and step on the trolley, go round and round, hop on hop...

·From the moment I checked in I was made feel very welcome, most important at any time but especially when travelling solo. I was celebrating a significant birthday on the day, January 1st, that I arrived and I was upgraded to a junior suite by the duty manager, who was also celebrating her birthday that day. Viel Dank, Frau Mrziek!...

This old style hotel, with classical architecture and old fashion decor, is excepcionally located. At Vienna's main street ring, it is easy to reach everywhere, both walking or with public transports. The room was spacious and comfortables. So was the bathroom. Nice breakfast, plenty of options. However, the internet connection is poor (free), the parking cost is huge, and if...

As usual, we stayed here for the location, which is excellent for sight seeing in Vienna. We were walking distance from many of the sites and right near a metro station. The room was a bit dated and there was NO air movement in our room - we opened the window when we dared, but as it was chilly, we...

I booked this hotel and received an incorrect rate. I did not think the hotel would honor this rate because it was much lower than their normal rates. I was very pleased they did and did so in the most professional ways possible. A sign of a true 5-star hotel! What I liked best: Very professional service. Nice location. Comfortable...

a nice hotel, not really five stars. the rooms are ok, the carpets and towels are outdated, the breakfast is poor and be careful with the parking in front of the hotel because it's free only during night time. the receptionist will announce you about this. in my opinion this hotel is too expensive for what they are offering.

We stayed here last October (it has taken me a while to get around to leaving a review!) and I loved it. The hotel has real charm and is gorgeous. We landed about five or six hours before check in time and they had no problem with checking us into a room so early. We got a fabulous room, with...

We were treated to a city break by our best friends who booked this hotel. One arrival we were allocated our double rooms and the receptionist went to much trouble explaining that the hotel was very old and the rooms all varied, fair enough we thought! However, our friends room was very large with a separate dressing area, en-suite with...

Staying in Serviten Quarter

Neighbourhood Profile
Serviten Quarter
The Serviten Quarter is an inner city neighbourhood with many private charms. Popular with French and American expats, Sigmund Freud’s neighbourhood boasts his former practice and apartments, now turned into a museum. Stunning Liechtenstein Garden Palace houses the private art collection of Prince Adam of Liechtenstein. Romantic Strudlhofstiege close to the palace is a fantastic photo spot. With their small independent shops and eateries, the main streets of Liechtensteinstrasse, Porzellangasse and Servitengasse reveal much of this area’s character. Peek into baroque Serviten Church, with its richly decorated dome and walls. At the Old Jewish cemetery in Seegasse you can see one of the most precious cemeteries in Europe with tombstones almost 500 years old.
