Stayed in November 2016, the location was super, the stop for the train is just outside the front door, it could not be closer. Breakfast was very good with a large variety. Rooms a little dated but not worth giving out about. Would stay again.

Have just come back from a three night stay in this hotel. Lovely hotel, pleasant reception staff (also spoke very good English), very helpful. Had breakfast included, was impressed. A wider continental range available which was fine for me but maybe not if you prefer a cooked breakfast. Didn't have dinner there as went out but came back for evening...

What more can I say superb location in the centre of Vienna, elegant hotel with a very good restaurant and attentive staff. Rooms are very large with very high ceilings. This hotel will not fail to wow you!

My second stay at the Kummer in three years. Each time was for 6 nights. The hotel is in a great location, good for shopping and public transport, both trains (U-Bahn) and buses. The rooms are very comfortable, very clean and well serviced. Staff have been very helpful, making it a hotel I would be pleased to stay at again...

Staff need to know more English. Metro station is only 5 minutes walk from the hotel. Near all sights in wein,,,,,,,, would love to come again.

Hotel is very conveniently located in Mariahilfer strasse, a long stretch of road right in the heart of Vienna's shopping district. You can opt for a 30 minute walk to the centre (Stephansplatz) or take the underground just opposite the hotel.

This review is just for the Cafe outside: We told the waiter to pay 3 times and waited for 20 minutes. He just smiles at us but never came. Gladly another waiter was kind enough to let us pay. Never ever again.

Booked the hotel as part of an Expedia deal. Very pleased with outcome. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was excellent, room very clean and much bigger than expected. Location was perfect. Right by tube station but also not that far to walk to city centre. Didn't eat there in the evening so can't comment on the quality...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
