We ended up here because it had the best value for money on our dates, according to what we've read online. It did not fail our expectations. Small on the outside, but once you're in, you can't help wondering how large and spacious the hotel is. We got a room on the last floor, and the windows were located quite...

Hotel is good standard, reasonable price, very well placed for tourism and short business trips. Only downside is that there is no parking available and the garage next door is very conveniently located indeed but at 20 Euro a night very expensive. Keep this in mind.

Stayed here for the first weekend of February 2017. We arrived at around 12:30 PM. The room was not ready, so we stored our luggage in the hotel and went outside which is a shoppers paradise. The hotel is just one minute from the main shopping street in Vienna. All the shops are closed on sunday and closes at 6...

Characterful old building, nice room with chandelier, great shower, excellent location, more than reasonable price - and very friendly and helpful staff. Very good experience. I only wish I had stayed for longer.

Stayed here for 3 nights as a winter city break with my boyfriend. The hotel is in a good location on a main shopping street and the underground right outside. The rooms were spacious and clean and nicely decorated - the only downfall was no tea/coffee making facilities just a minibar. The hotel has a great bar, Barflys, which serves...

I really liked this hotel. A hundred meters to the Metro, 30 meters to a shopping street and walking distance to most of the important tourist “must see places”. Not a fancy pansy hotel, but quite charming and a GREAT breakfast restaurant. In the evening it has a very popular and cosy bar in the basement. Some stairs to climb...

My sister and I were very happy with accommodation in Fuerst Metternich. Hotel is very central. We were able to walk to many popular turistic places. Rooms are big, clean and during the nights quite. In the basement of hotel there is nice bar with kind and friendly staff. I strongly recommend you to have a drink there.

Got what expected based on the website. Acceptable price, tidy, clean, elegant room, English-speaking, friendly personnel. Perfect location, 1/2 a minute from Mariahilferstrasse, 10 minutes from the city centre on foot.

Nice hotel - maybe a little careworn in places but clean. It is located about halfway between the Neubaugasse and Zieglergasse stops on the U3 subway. The entrance hall is quite grand, with marble staircases and chandeliers. My room looked out of the front. Because it was hot and there is no air-con, I had all of the windows open....

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.
