Good hotel, big rooms equiped with huge bathrooms. Very clean (everyday cleaning - sometimes too early) and placed next to Mariahilfstrasse (50 meters).
Some troubles about booking, they communicated us the price per room without breakfast (even this was required), but the staff was very...More
We stayed at the Furst Metternich for our 5th wedding anniversary and chose it because of it's location. The Hotel is most certainly not a 4 star but it was a good base for seeing the sights, of which Vienna has in spadefuls. A stunningly...More
We were given incomplete directions to the hotel despite emailing in advance. It took us 40 minutes to find the hotel which was only 5 minutes away from the station. When we finally managed to reach the hotel we told the girl,Bianca, about the directions...More
We stayed here for 2 nights over a weekend in April. This hotel has a good location, just off one of the main shopping streets in Vienna. It's close to 2 U-bahn lines - U3 and U4, so really handy for getting around. Beware though,...More
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with
its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.

Sorry, I don' have experience with airport transportation in Vienna, but I do know there is regular public service. To get to Hotel Fürst Metternich, head for the metro line which connects Stephansplatz (downtown, right at the cathedral) with Westbahnhof and get off at the Zieglerstrasse stop. It's only a few steps from there.
