We traveled with another couple and had not stayed in Vienna previously. The personal attention we received from the first moment of our arrival surpassed our expectations. My foot was swollen from a previous injury as a result of air travel. The desk manager just...More
The staff at this hotel are excellent! Felt so welcomed:) The breakfast is reasonable, breakfast room is a little sparse. The hotel itself is an old building, lifts old etc. Room quite large although dated! Excellent value for money for a short trip!:)
Great location right across from the opera house, Hofburg palace area and subway. Delicious daily breakfast and clean, quiet room. A/C was a little warm but we were there in the middle of an uncharacteristic heat wave! Would recommend.
We have been coming back to this hotel for two reasons: its location and its staff. Overlooking the Ringstrasse, with lateral views of the Opera and within a few steps of Vienna's busy inner city, but still accessible by car, you really cannot get it...More
That is great place.Very close to the city center,to the metro station,to cafes and restaurants. We were with a small child and we were very pleased with the attitude of the staff,Strateful, friendly and smiling. I'd love to visit again and recommend.
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The
Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.

See the responses posted by Katie and SuePhilly: train and underground combination works well, is as fast as or faster than other methods and much less expensive. There is also an airport bus service that takes you to Schwedenplatz: like a taxi it depends on traffic conditions how fast that'll be; also from Schwedenplatz, you again depend on other means of transport to get to the opera area. -- The hotel does not have its own shuttle service.
