Hotel was excellent, very clean and tidy throughout. Owner Barbara Ludwig was most welcoming, and advice as where to eat was appreciated. Hotel was small enough to be intimate. Enjoyed piano and cello recital on Sunday evening, and quiz evening on Tuesday, where Barbara introduced us to a group of locals. The staff were most helpful and provided us with...

We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst in Vienna for a family city break. We had a large room on the top floor, there was plenty of space for our toddler to move around and there was a very nice bathroom. A cot was provided for us. The hotel is located a short (less than 10 minute) walk...

Great little hotel, easy walk into centre, metro for connection to the CAT train from the Airport. The rooms were really comfortable, beds and pillows to die for! Breakfast was plentiful , good choice of hot and cold food. I would definitely stay here again.

We remembered the hotel from 2004, and this time my sister and brother-in-law came too. The location, close to the Secession, Staatsoper and Museum Quarter, is great. The included breakfasts are super, and hot drinks and cake are available on the mezzanine when meeting up again in the afternoon. We even had a piano/cello 'hauskonzert' there on a Sunday evening....

Dear guests, It was a great pleasure to welcome you again and that you had nice memories about the Beethoven Hotel. I am also happy that you could enjoy our weekly Sunday classical concert and that you liked it. It is played on my mothers piano who loved music her whole life. Prior to trip I researched extensively online for a quirky, trad hotel near, but not in, central Vienna. Hotel Beethoven met the requirement perfectly. Located right on exclusive market with good, local eating options, 10 mins walk to many major attractions and principal shopping areas, 5 mins from major U-Bahn complex for all other destinations. Top-rate room was spacious, comfortable...

Hotel Beethoven is well situated next to the Naschmarkt where one can dine in a different restaurant every night only steps away from the hotel. Great for the cold weather and after a long day walking the city. The city's subway is accessible only a block away which also makes the hotel desirable for location alone. The staff are superb...

Staying in Mariahilf

Neighbourhood Profile
Mariahilf
Vienna’s sixth district hosts high street shopping heaven and pedestrian area Mariahilfer Strasse. The weirdest local building is probably the city aquarium Haus des Meeres, housed in one of Vienna’s six remaining World War II defense towers, and topped with a rooftop bar that offers stunning views over Vienna and the centre. One of the most historic sites in the area is the passageway of 18th century Raimundhof with its small shops and cafés. It leads from Mariahilfer Strasse to Windmühlgasse. For a glimpse into the world of early 19th century theater, visit Semperdepot, the former depository for theatre decoration, which now hosts art exhibitions and fairs.

Hotel Beethoven – Lovers of Vienna welcome The 4-star Hotel Beethoven lies ensconced in culture and cuisine on the “bohemian“ Naschmarkt, opposite the Papagenotor at Theater an der Wien, just a few minutes’ walk from the Opera, the Musikverein, the Museumsquartier, the most traditional Viennese coffeehouses and shopping streets. 4-star hotel situated on Vienna’s NaschmarktThe location of the 4-star Hotel Garni on the Naschmarkt lets lovers of Vienna dive right into the typical Viennese lifestyle. The market, with its dozens of little stalls and selection of fresh fruit, vegetables and specialities, is a colourful and lively snapshot of Vienna, which is even more varied on Saturdays, with the farmer’s and flea market. In addition to the restaurants and cafés around the Naschmarkt, a trendy restaurant and bar scene has developed in the market area. Coupled to cultureThe culturally committed Ludwig family, which owns the hotel, sponsors numerous Viennese cultural institutions, such as the Albertina, the Mumok and the Musikverein and inspires lovers of Vienna to special cultural delights: invitations to previews, exhibition openings, museum visits and preferential ticket orders at the Musikverein. ... more   less
