hotel is quite central and the breakfast is not bad - these are the only 2 good things about the hotel. It is very outdated and unclean. Our room was full of dust and we even saw an insect there! We complained about the cleaning but nothing was done for us. You hear all the street noise bin your rooms...

If you want a nice comfortable family hideaway close to everything and reasonably priced look no further. The staff are kindly: I'd made a mistake with our booking but they took it in their stride and isnteda of kicking us out they rearranged things with no hassle.

Graf Stadion is well located near public transport and within walking distance of the Ringstrasse. Numerous traditional cafes and restaurants are nearby. Like many mid-range hotels in older buildings, there is no air conditioning or ventilation apart from opening the (double) windows. Street noise can be a problem if the windows are opened to ventilate the room. There is a...

Great family hotel in Vienna. The location is very good, just behind the Austrian Parliament and the City Hall and next to a tram stop (tram 2 doing half the outer ring) and a metro station. Breakfast was included and it was very good. The triple room was large and comfortable. Staff was kind and helpful.

We booked a double room and were upgrade to a triple room. The room was very spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect – close to the city center and metro but in a quiet area. There was a good selection of food for breakfast and great coffee. The vintage elevator was charming. The hotel is not luxurious but comfortable...

Tiny, noisy room right over the street. When we commented on the noise, the owner shrugged and said "it's the city; cities are noisy." Our room was super small, just about the width of the two (overly soft) twin beds that were in it. The street did quiet down at night though. GREAT location and EXCELLENT breakfast make up for...

excellent position in town; room extra large; silent environment at night; nice competent and friendly personnel; breakfast very good and tasty; the bed is not really a king size one but rather two independent single beds set side by side

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
