We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, quite and central location, very close to the underground station, nice breakfast and friendly staff. It was offered in a reduced cost so it also was a good value for money.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Graf Stadion for a weekend trip to Vienna. The hotel was clean, the staff was friendly, and the rooms were pretty comfy. The value for the cost of a room was quite high. Above all, the location was amazing - it was very easy to walk from the hotel to many of the locations...

Nice base to visit the city of Vienna. Metro and tram stop outside the door. Very friendly staff and on arrival we were given information about the attractions in the city. Great room with all amenities. The breakfast in the morning was versatile.

The location is perfect, just about 3 minute walk from public transport (U-Bahn station), Volksgarten and Rathauspark, also Ringstrasse. Very helpful and friendly staff. There were no problems connecting to Wi-Fi, all worked good for me. I liked the atmosphere and an old-fashioned elevator.

Staying in Josefstadt

Neighbourhood Profile
Josefstadt
The eighth district is an older generation’s Vienna at its finest: and this is what makes it popular with locals of all ages. Josefstadt has theatre, small independent shops, romantic passageways, neighbourhood cafés with regular clientele, church squares, town palaces and shady communal gardens. Trendy hangouts have conquered distinctive places such as the Old General Hospital (Altes AKH) and the vaults of overground U6. Theater in der Josefstadt on Josefstädter Strasse is the district’s cultural epicentre. Even if your German isn’t good enough to watch a play, you can marvel at the typical Biedermeier building and take a glimpse into the foyer. Lange Gasse houses an iconic local restaurant at its corner, as well as a legendary sweet shop and a bustling neighbourhood market every Saturday. For small palace atmosphere and a different view on Vienna’s history, make your way to Schönborn garden palace (Palais Schönborn), which houses the Museum of Folk and Folk Art (Volkskundemuseum). Maria-Treu-Platz, with its summer outdoor cafés facing baroque church Maria Treu, and the historic passageway of Lerchenfelder Strasse 13 hide top spots for insiders.
