Could not ask for a better location in Vienna ... steps away from almost all points of interest and the best shopping in town. Also convenient to dining and public transportation. Hotel Wandl was well-appointed, clean and well-staffed. Breakfasts were wonderful! Their Concierge Desk was always helpful, knowledgeable and attentive to our needs ... snagged tickets for me at the...

Our large group of 53 descended upon the Hotel Wandl at 6 PM on a recent Saturday evening. That event could have been most unsettling for the two working at Reception, but they handled everything with calm and poise. Within 30 minutes our crew was all checked in, all gear was stowed and everyone was ready to head out for...

I spent three nights here in a single room and it felt like a small college dorm room and was well appointed for one person. One weird thing about the room was that the toilet was in a separate room separated from the sink and shower area by a long hallway. The hotel room was very clean and spotless. The...

We only spent one night at the Wandl Hotel because we were at another hotel with terrible location. I have to say I'm very happy we changed because this hotel its right in the city center in a very exclusive location close to the luxury brands and activities as opera. From my window you could see the beautiful cathedral. The...

If you are thinking to reserve this hotel, please think it twice. It has a great location but the hotel service is terrible. The breakfast, a nightmare!!!! You will be forced to fight for a table and nobody will help you! I stayed 4 nights and I will never choose this hotel again!!! It's too expensive for the service that...

We visited here around Christmas. The staff was incredible - super nice and gave us great recommendations! My only complaint was the room size and lack of AC. Even though it was cold outside, the rooms are a bit hot and stuffy because all rooms lack AC and windows to the outdoors. The bed sheets were super thick, so I...

This place is a real mixed bag. So here's a story. I arrive at midnight following a delayed flight. Vienna is now closed for business ! So having dropped off my bags quickly in the room (more to come on that), I go to reception and ask 'can I get food and drink from somewhere?' The gentleman on reception goes...

Staying in Inner City

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
