Recommended by a friend and no hesitation to recommend it to others in turn! Visited last week when it was extremely hot, so the central location was even more of a benefit than expected. No airco but who would expect these temperatures, with windows opened as soon as the sun had disappeared it was ok in the room at night....

We stayed 4 nights during one of the hottest spells of weather for some time. The hotel is in an excellent location in Petersplatz, close to Stephansplatz and the main tourist areas. We arrived by train into Westbahnhof and it was an easy 3 stop ride on the U-Bahn to get to the hotel. The hotel itself is a grand...

The hotel is located right in the center of old Vienna. I was not happy with the experience, though. I got a very small room on the 5th floor towards a roofed atrium. The room had no fresh air and it was very hot. No airconditioning, only a fan on the ceiling. The atrium also amplified every sound and it...

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights. The rooms were nice, not too small and beds were comfortable but the bathroom was very small and also the shower. It was very clean and breakfast was very good. The only big problem is that the room had two windows that open to a closed patio, so you actually never get...

This hotel is very very good located, just 2 min walk from Stephanplatz. Is very clean, the breakfast very good. Has NO air conditioning and NO fridge in the room; this could be a big problem in the summer. The lady on the front desk is no very friendly BUT the boys are very nice. Also the doorman is very...

Traveling for business doesn't always have to mean sterile, standard hotels. Case in point, the Wandl. It is in a fantastic location, in the heart of the first district, which just calls to one to wander around this stunning city. My room was large, particularly by European standards and the bed comfortable. Only downside was the lack of air-condoning but...

The staff were great. I loved the breakfasts. The hotel was very clean. The room and bathroom were very nice. The only negative was that the room was not air conditioned and we were there when I was very hot. If I ever return to Vienna in the cooler months I would stay at the Wandl but during the hotter...

My family and I came here for 2 nights during the start of summer in June. It was hot and uncomfortable, with no fridge and no air con. This may be common in Vienna so its worth checking. We had a room with a view, but it faced the western sun, so in the afternoon it was like a sauna....

I stayed at Hotel Wandl for one night. It is indeed in the center of the city and kind of 10 minutes walk from a wide range of tourist attractions. It was a very pleasant stay. The room was as advertised (I didn't have one with a window to the outside though, the windows were facing inwards to the spiral...

Nice stairs! :) Single room really means single. Small bed. Let's say a 100kg man could use more space in a bed, in toilet and in shower. Air problem - courtyard window doesn't do the thing. It is very central thought so if you're not here to spend time in a hotel room it's good.

Neighbourhood Profile
Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
