We really enjoyed our Hotel Austria experience. We found the staff behind the desk friendly and very helpful. The atmosphere was warm and homely. It was perfectly located in a very quiet dead-end laneway in the oldest historical part of the city yet was within close walking distance to the famous Kӓrtnerstrasse (pedestrian mall) with all the fashion shops and...

Ditto the positive comments on this place. A beautiful hotel. Very friendly staff and a real boutique feel. It is a short walk from the subway and at the end of a dead end laneway so there is no traffic noise. They have a secure luggage room and were happy for us to leave our bags after our check out.

We are so glad that we trusted all previous reviews for Hotel Austria so what further can we add? Suffice to say this hotel is professionally run by the management to ensure that their guests are provided with a high standard of facilities. Alex Polezzi (English TV program Hotel Inspector) not required here! Hotel/Rooms are tastefully furnished and spotless. Nice...

The Austria is a well-located, well-managed three-star hotel with comfortable, spacious rooms, an excellent buffet breakfast, free Wifi, and a top-notch staff. The Austria is only 5 minutes on foot from the cathedral, Stephansdom, the heart of old Vienna. However, the hotel's situation on a dead-end, (mostly) pedestrian street guarantees a quiet night's sleep. Bathrooms are roomy and well-equipped, everything...

We stayed in Hotel Austria for 5 nights in June/July this year (Comfort Double Room). The hotel is located right in the heart of Vienna, it's a few steps down to the Danube and maybe 5 min of a walk to the St. Stephen's Cathedral (Stephansdom). Most of the inner city attractions - and there are plenty - are in...

Everything about this hotel was great: the location, the staff, the very large room or the unexpected varied breakfast. Free internet at the PC in the lobby (with printer included) where you can easily print your boarding pass. The lobby itself makes you feel like you are in a traditional austrian aristocrat house. I wondered myself why this hotel has...

This hotel has an absolutely fabulous location! It is close to the tram and the subway but far enough away that you don’t have to deal with the noise associated with being too close. It was also walking distance to may great restaurants. I found the neighbourhood safe and the “alley” you need to go down to get to the...

Stayed for 4 nights in mid September. Hotel is superbly located near the main square and a 2 minute walk to the subway. Although it is in a busy area it is located up a small laneway and therefore is very quiet. The room was large by European standards with two twin beds making up one that was close to...

Great selection at breakfast. Rooms small but adequate. Modest furnishing but in good condition. Quiet street in a good location (2 small blocks from underground and walking distance to many attractions). I would stay here again.

Lovely dining room. nice accomadations, and great big breakfast. This hotel was very central to the downtown shopping area and St. Stephen' Cathedral but do not expect staff to go out of their way to help. The desk manager watched me as I lugged three suitcases up the three steps to the elevator and did not offer to help or...
