This is an old world grand hotel. Everything from the lift, to the reception area, the foyer before entering your hotel room exuded old world charm and splendour. Our room was the largest we stayed in during a month in Europe. It was even large by American standards. It was amazing value given the size of the room and the...

An older property. Big, clean rooms, high ceilings and great updated bathroom. Strong WIFI. Right at the corner of the Pedestrian street leading to old town (20-30 min walk). Good value. Nothing fancy but certainly comfortable. BUT, the hotel is across the street from the Westbahnhof train station which as of 2015 is NO longer the main train station in...

A nice old fashion three star hotel for visitors that like the old Wien style of a last century imperial building Comfortable and clean rooms, very good beds at a very competitive price. Fantastic team Location is in front of the West train station with all the main urban transport stop just on the other side of the road If...

This is definitively a hotel with a personality. Hotel Fürstenhof shows its century-long history "with warts and all". We happen to love this type of hotels, where you get a sense of the genius loci. You are not offered streamlined standard fare, but rather a flavor of real travel. To be more specific about what we liked: the hotel's staff...

According to the front desk clerk the hotel was fully booked and therefore he was unable to provide me another room. Why I wanted another room? The did not have the key of the room. The door could not be locked. The money for the room could not be reimbursed. There was no other room available. And I as a...

I loved this hotel! It is so beautiful and has a great Victorian feel to it. The staff were extremely friendly and multi lingual. It was right next to a metro station and easy to find, would definitely recommend!

I didn't want to leave my room! I wouldn't expect from this hotel to be that wonderful. Location is excellent - in front of Westbahnhof. If you like to shop - Mariahilefer street is right around the corner. As I entered the building, I felt like I stepped into beginning of past century, when this hotel was founded. The staff...

Old school hotel. Rooms were clean and cozy, staff was super friendly . It's located very close to the Westbahnhoff train station and at the start of (now) pedestrian zone - that can take to right to the old parts of town , museums, etc. Very good starting point for city sightseeing. Good value for your money.

If you are looking for good location in Vienna, that's a nice hotel to stay. In front of the hotel is the Westbahnhof Station, one of the main train station in the city, linking 2 subway lines and also the tram that leaves you in front of the Hofburg Palace in about 10 minutes. The hotel is close to the...

Staying in Neubau

Neighbourhood Profile
Neubau
Vienna’s art district, Neubau buzzes with galleries, arts and crafts, trendy restaurants, avant-garde shops, and cafés. Neubau’s Spittelberg quarter with cobblestoned Spittelberggasse and Gutenberggasse make for a perfect stroll alongside Biedermeier houses and art shops. Don’t miss the historic courtyard at Amerlinghaus with its typical Pawlatschen galleries, a perfect hangout on a warm summer evening. Museumsquartier is Neubau’s undisputed highlight: the former Imperial stables house various top museums of 19th to 21st century art. If you love interiors, head for the Imperial Furniture museum (Hofmobiliendepot), one of the world’s largest furniture collections. Find your favorites among a dazzling array of Baroque, Biedermeier, Art Nouveau and Modernist chairs, sofas, cupboards, coat hangers, foot stools and wash basins. No weekend visit would be complete without stopping by a local café on a weekend morning for brunch.
