We absolutely loved Pension City and wish we could have extended our stay there. First off, the location of the hotel is absolutely wonderful. It is right near St. Stephen's Cathedral and a metro stop at Stephansplatz, which made navigating Vienna so incredibly easy. The rooms themselves were very nice and the beds were very comfortable. The only negative is...

This hotel is basic with clean and comfortable rooms although small bathrooms. The great thing about the City Pension hotel is the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel is in such a great position making it easy to visit all the beautiful attractions of Vienna.

Pension city offers rooms decorated in old fashioned style. Cute but comfortable. The bathroom is tiny. What makes this place really ideal is its perfect location,so close to Stephansplatz and within easy walking distance of Schwedenplatz. Secondly, and of no lesser importance, is the charm and helpfulness of all the staff, both reception and housekeeping.

Old fashioned and small rooms with squeaky floors might be considered as downsides but the super friendly service and the great location totally weighs up for that. But next time we would ask if they have any bigger rooms available.

Three of us stayed in a room for one night, and found it absolutely perfectly suited for our needs. The front desk staff were extremely helpful and welcoming, and we were delighted to find a personalized note and a plate of fruit awaiting us on the table in our room. Very nice. The room was small, but contained most of...

This is the perfect place. It is not fancy, but all the right things are here. The staff is kind, attentive, and most accommodating. They are available when you need them. Space is small, but well thought out. Thoughtfulness, and more than what you need is here. Location is optimal. If you want to stay as I do, in a...

The location was good as the hotel was next to Stephansplatz. You can walk to most attractions in Vienna or just take public transport easily. There were shopping places and eateries are all around the area. The room was clean and comfortable although a bit small. But it was good value for the price.

Everything about the first impressions of the hotel were positive. The macaroon is perfect. The entrance is well maintained, the staff is welcoming and very helpful, and the room is attractive. But during the 4 days we were there, it was really warm and there was no air conditioning because they said it had been cold last week and it...

I switched hotels while in Vienna to be closer to where everything was within walking distance. This cute hotel was perfect location around the corner from the Stephen's Cathedral. I checked in early as I wanted to start seeing Vienna at 9am- the lady at the counter was super friendly (I forgot her name) and helpful! I asked a must...

This really is a pension, not a hotel. The rooms are quite small and the bathrooms are tiny. Breakfast is good, great if compared to the depressing "continental breakfast" offerings of US chains, but not nearly as expansive as we had elsewhere. And, again, the room is small, making guests stumble over each other to reach the coffee and buffet....

Inner City
In Vienna's best-known district, pedestrian boulevards Kärntner Strasse and Graben connect you with landmarks such as the Wiener Staatsoper (Vienna State Opera), Vienna’s iconic Stephansdom (St. Stephen’s Cathedral) and the vast compound of Hofburg, the Habsburgs’ former Imperial Palace. Peek down side streets such as Annagasse and Weihburggasse, and Graben’s Seilergasse and Habsburggasse, to get a feel for the centre. The Imperial Apartments and the refreshingly demystifying Sissi Museum are must-dos at Hofburg. Spacious squares such as Am Hof and Freyung often host beautiful seasonal and antiques markets.
